I have to make the green curry. It looks so good. Thanks for sharing about the struggles with your new food plan. I would miss my vegetables and other items .

I have been on carnivore for over a year. Don't worry about the macros, your body will let you know what it needs and when it needs it. Just eat protein and fat until you are comfortably full when you get hungry and you will get all that you need. Just make sure you follow Dr advice for your medical issues. But you don't need to worry about getting X# of grams per day etc.

You are heading into full on summer right? I’m thinking that you might find your carnivore/keto plan a bit easier in the fall winter when there is far less fruit and veggies available and there’s more sleep/lower energy days …personally I’d hate missing out on fresh seasonal produce .

Hi Nyssa. I just wanted to say, I’m very interested in what you and Darryl are eating. It seems you feel it’s boring and unimportant but I think there’s more interested in it than you realize. I’m starting to think about carnivore/ keto/ I want to feel better eating. lol and you are so creative and knowledgeable that I find your menu very informative and educational. The ghee mayo being a prime example. So all that to say please continue to show what you’re doing (as time allows you of course). You’re more of a blessing to many, I would assume, than you give yourself credit for. ❤

I struggled on Keto because basically I dont care for that much meat and little else. I would skip meals because of it and it would mess up my blood sugar. Not good for a diabetic. I finally decided to give it up.
@wendydaniels75915 сағат бұрын
You can do plant based keto . It's not about the meat

I’ve noticed a difference in your inflammation signs. I have a chronic inflammatory disease and I know what inflammation looks like. I’ve added vitamin K2D3 and B12 drops and am noticing a difference in my health. I know it’s summer there but vitamin D is so helpful in inflammatory diseases. I went down a very deep rabbit hole with that one so I’ll spare you my conspiracy theories. 😂❤ Best of luck to you both and so proud of you for doing it. Btw I struggle with not eating too nothing looks good but you have to eat to fuel your body. Ugh. But after 8 months of supplementing, I’m starting to get a little better. It’s not like I don’t need to lose the weight but I don’t want my body to struggle and I do have better days if I’m eating. The struggle is real my friend. I’m 59 and Ive had this since I was 12! It’s only in the last 4 years that I’ve been able to start focusing on my future health. Good on you for starting earlier. You got this. ❤

I'm following fast 800 diet which is based around Mediterranean style of eating. I enjoy trying different recipes. It's very low calorie count at first and I do add in bread as I was missing that but only odd slice here and there. Have tried cloud bread (made with egg whites) and I've seen people make wraps using cottage cheese which might help you and Daryl xx
@OurSmallFootprintКүн бұрын
I tried to get some cottage cheese and it was sold out everywhere, I'm guessing because of all the current trends going on using it, I made some today with some milk so I could try a few things, but you get so little for such a large amount of milk!

Hi Nyssa, - order question 😊 I'm just about to order some tote bags, but I wanted to check if "Earl" will just be rooster with the small earl written under him? And for "Progress not perfection" with bees, do you have an example of it on a canvas, not black bag, by any chance? Will it work having black writing on white canvas + bees? I want to bees to be obvious and not disappear 😀 I'm in nsw, so I wanted to check if I will be able to order the totes, garden markers or mugs after Christmas? Anyway, I'm good at ranting too 😂 Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing your life, cooking and creativity, it's such a blessing ❤
@OurSmallFootprintКүн бұрын
Yes, Earl is just Earl with his name, it looks super cute too lol, I’ve done one of those for someone. I probably do have a pic of the bees on canvas, they look good, the DTF really pops even on the white! Drop me a message on fb/insta or email (Nyssa at oursmallfootprint dot com) and I’ll send you some pics. And Yop, the plan is to keep the store open indefinitely now, so avail all the time and I’ll add stuff and enjoy the creative outlet :D

That sauce looks nice. I’ll have to watch again to see how you made it. I was very satiated the first 2 weeks and only ate 2 meals a day. Now it’s 2 or 3 meals a day depending on what time I eat. If I eat lunch around 2 or 3 I don’t eat dinner. Now that it’s getting hot I’ve turned to cold meat as in shaved beef, cold rissoles and cooked chicken and a few prawns as a treat. I haven’t lost anymore weight but my body is definitely changing shape… thanks for your update..

Hi Nyssa. Yet again, you are amazing. I wonder with all the baking, preserving, etc , do your legs get tired ?? from standing ?? I have done Keto, it was ok, but I stacked the weight back on when I finished.. Haven't tried carnivores as I would miss my veg and salad... the cauliflower rice is nice, and you can always do zuchinni zoodles. 😊 Happy weekend..

My back is more my issue, but I have a chair in the kitchen, so I pause and sit when I can! its just behind me and out of shot most of the time hehe. We did keto for quite a while years back again more for D than me, and it was fine, but didn't really change anything for me, but its hard for D to maintain a diet when I do all the cooking if I'm not doing it with him too, so I'm happy to persevere for a period and see how I go lol. He's always been a food is fuel kinda person though, whereas I enjoy the processes and cooking of the foods etc too, he'll just eat whatever I put in front of him.

I’ve found introducing fasting to my life (see fast like a girl Mindy Pelz) I find I cook better and am far more creative while fasting. Then I really look forward to my eating window, it’s so intentional and incredibly enjoyable. Just sharing my experience, doesn’t work for everyone but it has helped me a lot. 😁 All the best, thanks again for another video

I'll look it up, we basically do intermittent fasting though, finish eating by 6.30pm and not eat again until about lunchtime the next day (other than a coffee, which I know depends on your views as to whether that breaks a fast or not :))

I know you are are doing keto/carnivore due to health concerns, inflamation etc, but I just wanted to let you know that you are looking healthy, fresh faced and also less full in the face. Outwardly you're looking good so I hope your creativity is ignited to rekindle your interest.........maybe looking at different types of protein sources and methods of preparation in different countries (if you have any time) might pique your interest? Good luck. x

Thank you, yes, I think variety of meat will be key too, and having the right things defrosted and ready to go rather than having to think so hard on it etc. Next trip I always buy prawns for Christmas, that will be a treat to eat them as well! I bought some fish to try this trip too, but I need to pull it out pre emptively and defrost it and sometimes that's the hardest thing, the planning :D. I'm pretty good at it, but everyone gets burnt out eventually lol.

Nyssa carnivore has been a challenge for me for the same reasons I get bored and then go off the deep end. Some people I refer to on KZbin for some ideas on mixing it up and using things in different ways are Laura Spath, and also steak and butter gal. I wanted to tell you also to use those pork fats/skins and make pork grinds... then you can use those as bread crumbs. Also use egg whites or shredded cheese to make tortillas. Steak and butter gal has a lot of fun different things to try
@OurSmallFootprintКүн бұрын
I've done a few things with the pork rinds etc, and the next video will show a bit more, I did chicken tenders, and we've tried tortillas, though I'm not sold on any of them yet, I even found some carnivore crackers I would like to try hehe, its all just a bit of effort lol.
@Victoria.Stein0201Күн бұрын
@OurSmallFootprint yes it definitely takes some huge efforts, which I'll remind you, you make giant efforts for your kids and family every day with all your wonderful meals. Now it's time to put some of that effort into meals for you I know you are more then capable to make some very interesting recipes carnivore wise just new effort but I'm excited to see what you come up with.

My son and I did a carnivore diet back in 2018. My son went full on and ate under 15 grams of carbs. I tried to do the same and there was no way. I talked to a few people and I counted up what my daily carb amount was previous and I halved it and ate like that for a few months and then halved it again. If you are feeling the ickkk now I would suggest you go slower so that it remains sustainable. xxxxx
@OurSmallFootprintКүн бұрын
I feel ok in general, and no different than normal, I just get bored of eating food for the sake of eating hehe. I like to cook and try new foods etc and full on carnivore doesn't have a lot of that, yes, some trials, we've done pizza etc, but meh.

Nyssa, anything you make, cook, prepare is worth sharing. Everyone eats differently. I love watching you cook even if it is the same thing over and over again!! I do understand about the food needing to be interesting to want to eat it or be enticed by it. When I was getting treatments I tried to cook to entice myself to eat more. Otherwise I just wouldn’t eat and that wasn’t good for me. Love your videos and watching you and listening to your voice. It is all very calming for me. Have a great weekend my friend. ❤
