Louise, So good to have you back, as I have missed you very much 😊 The process you go through is so complete, and informative, that anyone watching your videos wanting to learn, has a front row seat. The care you take in making artwork your own, with each tiny touch, that brings a light to your abilities, as in this beautiful Lazy Susan. I know it will bring a great donation for a much needed cause, and in the process will bring happiness to who ever is bidding on this one of a kind piece. Hoping all is moving forward in your own backyard, in recovery, and the wood you will have to work with now, will have an all "new meaning" 🤗☺❤

Wow Jude, if you haven’t made a path in a writing career, you should. Every one of your comments are filled with a depth of thought and understanding insight and wisdom! I really appreciate all of your support, and kindness. I wish all the wood that is now a bounty would be usable however, it is far too wet and honestly the wood I pick is often very going to rot, and certainly been in the woods for a number of years too ferment for my process. However, I will hopefully find some other use for it. Once again, thank you for your well thought out and kind words.

@@LouiseMcKayArt Louise, LOL...been writing since I was 16yrs old, and have boxes of the "stuff" 😉 but no book yet...seems to be passed on to my youngest son, Daniel who has Down Syndrome, and man can he write so beautifully...one day maybe, someone will find my "box of words" and do some good with them, for I've always jotted down my feelings from my heart and soul, the same way you do in your beautiful creations....Thanks hon, for the honest words you share with each of us...Be safe, sending love on the "Wings of Angels"....🤗☺❤

Ahhhhh, I did not know about the varnish once the tape is off! Also, at the beginning I used a different resin. It wasn’t a great turnout. I now only use what you do. Night & day difference!
@LouiseMcKayArt27 күн бұрын
@@SusanDettmer that’s something I’ve started doing just to give a good seal between the bottom and the resin. Thank you for being here Susan.💙 And the type of varnish in the brand that you use is crucial. I can’t seem to convince some people. But I’ve used some crapo resin that doesn’t work, And it’s heartbreaking
@TheParkAttendant24 күн бұрын
There is a small vacuum chamber you can get, that will help pull the bubbles out of the resin. If you are in a hurry it may be something to consider.

I saw another artist conversation concerning warped Lazy Susan's. She felt the ones she had been buying from Ikea had their finish formula changed, which caused warping when painted. Just thought I would share.

@ thank for trying, just wondered and people have been talking and inquiring about warp, some are really, really bad, but then again they didn’t prepare the wood at all, so I always wrote it off as a lack of preparation. But when it happens after even though wood is prepared, that’s a different story altogether.

I wish I had better thrift stores. I can never find anything to pour on. The pressure has a lot to do with what is happening with humidity. Especially in the south. Gourgous lazy susan. I'm sure it will raise much needed money.
@LouiseMcKayArt27 күн бұрын
Thank you Cindee💙 and thank you for the tip about pressure having to do with humidity, I did not know that I will see if there’s a correlation. (I did a lot of stats as a manufacturing quality manager) Hoping for a big auction turn out!
