432 Hertz VS 440 Hertz Handpan Comparison | Which do you prefer? | Taylor Sol

Will it be 440hz or 432hz? Which frequency do you prefer? I am excited to be able to share this video with you today!
Since I had two exact replica handpans from the same maker (Zephyr Handpans), I thought it would be a great idea to showcase the difference in sound and overall feeling that each handpan resonates between the two frequencies of 440hz and 432hz. These handpans are both in the key of D Amara 11 (Celtic) by Zephyr Handpans, the only difference being one is tuned to 432hz, and the other is in 440hz.
I intentionally didn't go into the science behind each frequency as my intention was to share these simplistically by inviting you to feel your feelings with what your heart says, rather than using the mind to decide what is right or wrong. The heart is our true north.

From my direct experience: When I play 440hz handpans, after some time I begin to feel tired/drained and I was curious why this might be... I began to explore testing 432hz handpans and it was an immediate game-changer for me! Now I am personally using 432hz handpans only as they resonate more beautifully for me as they give me a warm, loving, relaxing feeling when listening and playing, leaving me feeling relaxed and charged up after each time I play, rather than tired and drained.

It feels like the single "notes" of the 440 resonate much better with eachother than the 432. Somehow i want to like the 432 Hz because of the "earth frequenzy", but the 440 is so much more harmonic! Thank you a lot for the Video ❤

I agree 432 seems to ground down and 440 is brighter more lifting . For all the people who"love" 432 i think they say the like it because they think they're supposed to . Each has a purpose

I agree 432 doesn't sound as harsh, and I heard the sound of the tone of each note lasts as long as it's supposed to be, nothing extra. I see now why it's known as a more of a "grounding" frequency.

I feel much more soothed by the 440. Didn't expect that. But pretty consistently that was my reaction. (except in the very last example) then the 432 seemed to ground me....hmm. I enjoyed you playing!

The 432 frequencies are more consonant than the 440. There are a lot more fuzzy waves in the 440, making it more messy.

Both very pretty but the 440 seems to have almost too much sustain? Am I imagining that? That the 440 notes last much longer? Just seems to get slightly muddy and I think I’d get frustrated if there’s no way to tone that down sometimes.

432 sounds familiar, to my own frequency maybe. The 440 has a heartfelt sweetness and brightness. Makes my heart jump a little and lets me take a deep inbreath and sigh. Thats what i need i guess ❤

I was told 440 is slightly off and should be 444hz instead. Other than that 432 hz is more feminine, healing, natural and earthly frequency whereas 444 would be masculine, creative, heavenly counterpart. 440 seems to actually disturb me.

personally i liked them both, i listened to this with my eyes closed and couldnt really tell any difference, i tried first my left ear, then my right ear, HOWEVER, i do have hearing loss from MAJOR childhood ear infections that has caused perforations of my eardrums especially on my right side so i know it affects my hearing capacity, and ultimately because i cant tell the difference i would PREFER to learn how to play those melodies you shared with us, and where might i be so blessed as to learn those melodies please??? i do have a D amara 440 hand pan that i am just learning how to play

I don't have a perfect hear but was surprise by the difference in sound. Personally I prefer 432 Hertz. Sound a bit more mystic spiritual in my opinion. More relaxing, But certain song is better whit 440. I really think it's a matter of tastes and opinions

Former European pitch was 435Hz.. We should have maintained that pitch and not moved up to 440Hz.. (around 20 cents).. The vocal passaggios is placed wrong for most people with A4 at 440Hz (12.TET). (me included).. 432Hz is the lowest with 12-TET I can go before the deep chest range start to go too deep.. (meaning if I push a lot of volume on the low notes with A4=430Hz I can start to go a little sharp on those low notes..

close your eyes, move your phone away when you listen to him play, 432 hz is definitely smoother, less static, more relaxing. 440 is deeper but flatter sound with slight static to me.
