I am not ready for a permanent move to the Philippines. Meanwhile I'm "stuck" at my beach house on Cape Cod. My Pinay GF should arrive here in about 2 months. Spending the winters in the Phils is good enough for now.

it is heart warming when we hear foreigners saying Philippines is their home....whereas, a lot of Filipinos would want to leave the country thinking that there is a better place to live other than Philippines...thank you Finn for loving our country, if only other Filipinos would realize that Philippines is paradise....rich in natural resources but people are trying to destroy the country's resources by building subdivisions, indiscriminate mining, throwing wastes in the oceans, rather than cultivating the land and oceans

Almost all Filipinos who leave the country are due to economic opportunity, it is not because they don't love their native land. In fact there's a lot of Filipinos who come back and enjoy retirement in the Philippines. There's no place like home.

In my experience, Filipinos abroad love the Philippines to bits, but you have to respect their choices.
