Not line ties, eyes. The way you pulled open the sections is why the eyes loosened and the sections got stuck. Counter rotate the sections to untelescope. Jamming open or to close will never work. This sort of rod has to be treated differently to a 2 piece. If you don't know how, don't review it.

Wow just seeing this out of the box kzbin.infoUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.

If you have a telescopic rod and it gets Jammed get oil or what I did I put lotion in water it was all I could find and put it in the crevice of the rod and it will stop it from being jammed
@ikstrucking32896 жыл бұрын
Second ring on many telescoping rods is like that, you are just supposed to friction set it against the thicker body. When done fishing, make it loose again. Nothing broken there, Brendan

I have every size that rod comes in (different reels). Treat them well, and they will perform GREAT. I've used them for both salt and fresh, AND I've caught some big salmon on the bigger rods. Things to keep in mind though: DONT yank hard! Play the fish out. If you try to muscle them in, or really bend the pole it will break, same as any other pole. I caught a 14 lb salmon on one last year and I had no issues at all. Caught more dogfish than I can count and most of them were pretty big. I got the biggest pole they make for my father, he thought it was hilarious, but turned around and used it for salmon, he loved it. We can set it out further than the other poles and it worked great although trying to handle a pole that's as long as our boat was... interesting!

I got this rod for about 35$ 1 year ago. So far the only thing that came off is the second line guide room the top. Otherwise it works very well. I have taken it around salt water fresh water and so on. The friction locks come off easily if you twist them in opposite direction. Not sure if u guys have notices but the rear handle unscrews to extend further. Meaning it becomes more stable and is very balanced for casting. One thing that bothers me is the double screws that lock the reel in place. As I am a right handed person I hold my rod in the left hand, and every time I chance my hand grip/ position the screws come undone quite easily. But overall it's super compact. So compact so that I took it to my college campus to fish in the pond there.

I have the 9ft version of this rod that comes as just the rod for 27 bucks. Has the same problem with guide eyes, the reel seat did the same thing. It got the full dollar store epoxy treatment and seems to work fine now.
@psejsson14066 жыл бұрын
Mr. Brendan Miller missed that there is the grip extension on this rod, and all together used methods of extending the rod, that only can be superseded by using small explosives under bottom cap to extend it. I have this type of rod, and the quality of the graphite core is super, though i had some experiences with lose rings one on my identical rod and another one from the same manufacturer brand low ends, that was easily fixed with epoxy glue, before i went fishing. Check the guide rings before deploying the rod. Cheap rods are so because lacking expensive product tests before shipping, but for those prices . . .

The collapsable rods are a brilliant idea. The problems rods had was portability. It sticks out like a sour thumb. Here you should twist out instead of pulling out. That how you got stuck.

I don't have that exact combination but I got that brand sougayilang. The one I got from Amazon is about a six and a half foot rod the eyelets seem better made than what you're showing, so maybe they improved it, I got it for Christmas 2018. Since there's no snow or ice here in the Northeast I'm going to go take a few cast tomorrow just to try it out. Of course it's not my main source, my go-to rod is a Bass Pro Shop, but if this works out it's nice to keep in my truck, you never know when you're going to run into water

I always bring mine when I go catfishing to catch baitfish while the traditional one-piece/half collapse is set up for catfish. I can put the telescopic one in my bag, take it out, set it up, put a trout hook on, and a piece of a worm, and I’m good to go.

I took this rod to Mexico with no problems (we were flying into Guadalajara), but when we were flying back, being the non-spanish-speakers my family and I are, the people at the airport screening took my rod, and through very broken English (I give them props for doing it though) told us my rod is an "extendeble metal whip" and he had to take it or, we pay to have it shipped back in a new carry on. Long story short, I have the rod back after that fiasco. Ps; I know he wanted my colorful fishing rod whip 😂

@xm-51786 жыл бұрын
Ive got the exact same rod as you but all of my eyes are fine. Yours probably got damaged during shipping. The front heaviness of the rod is a problem though, I just used a heavier reel to compensate. I think the reason why your rod won't collapse is because you pulled to hard and the friction is causing those two sections to seize up
@AKwon07455 жыл бұрын

I bought a Chinese one on Amazon and was quite annoyed when the reel wasn't already spooled. I then proceeded to spool it myself and of course I the line memory was opposite the way I was spooling it and I got very annoyed. Sure, I should learn to spool it myself, but it's so nice when it comes pre-spooked and the line already has memory for the reel and I don't have to fight with a knotting line on my first time fishing in a decade. You are better off getting a cheap Walmart set for a starter.

Thats why I dont buy cheap rods. I spend good money on my rods so I also take care of them. I also use them to fish hard, but I dont toss them or whack them or anything. If you cant believe that I put this much care into my rods when theyre gonna get abused from fishing, then I cant believe that people spend money washing and waxing their cars and keeping a shiny clean paintjob when its just gonna get dirty from the road again.
