I got the spinning reel combo and it works great. Caught lots of fish including a 12lb grass carp on it. I caught many fish with just a Cuban YoYo. So the Fisherman/Angler is the most important component in fishing

I have the dock daemon spinning combo. I honestly love the rod. Is it my Daiwa set up, NO. This does however make for a great:, trail rod, back pack rod, kayak rod etc. The Dock Daemon spinning combo is a little longer than the casting rod. I suggest giving the other one a try.

As much as the reel might be crap, that rod is damned near indestructible. I saw a KZbinr name Senko Skipper pull a 15lb anchor, a 20lb propane tank (lifted as well) and it stopped a kayak. Pair this with a good reel and you've got a good portable setup for dock fishing (hence the name, duh.) or it would also be good for ice fishing. Ice fishing rods are short and notorious for breaking, cause of their thin diameter and crap quality for the price. This thing could kill any ice fishing rod and for the price, you can't go wrong. This is a great rod for the money. You literally CANNOT do better for the price vs. durability. Zebco nailed this.

For just a few dollars more, you can get a Zebco 202 or 33 and a 5 foot shakespeare rod and have a real fishing outfit for a kid, under 20 bucks. Got one for my nephew and he managed to catch a nice bass. We were fishing for bluegill and he caught one, then a big bass pounced on it and the fish got caught in the bass's mouth. He reeled it in and had a nice bass!

I can tell you I got my son that rod and reel combo not because it's cheap but because he's only 3. He caught some of the biggest blue gills I've seen. Very good rod and reel and casts very far.

Wow, I just got one of these for my Grandson,,,I was surprised how good it is. It is very good to use when teaching little kids how to fish. Dont think, I would use a regular senko - but regular live worms and bobbers work good.

That rod is surprisingly tough. I was impressed when you boat flipped that dinky Bass. More so when you ran it over. Might be good for micro fishing, granted you aren't using a float.

That's a Zebco Dock Demon. Though it's not anything special many young kids learn to fish with them. My brother many years ago bought me a Zebco 202 I think it was on a 4' rod if that I used it as my second pole rod here in Colorado. (it was a humor birthday gift) To fish with more then one reel you had to have a second pole stamp. My brother didn't think I would use it let alone catch any fish. I landed plenty of pan size rainbow and brown trout with it on my fishing trips. The drag wasn't super great but it pulled in every thing I hooked. My girlfriend now wife used it was well. I can't quite remember what happen to it but I used it for years. Back then I didn't have alot of money so I used what I could afford. My main reel was a Zebco 20/20. Lasted me over 35 years. I just recently bought 3 of the 20/20's for my grandkids paired up on Zebco rhino tough medium rods. They aren't the greatest reels but they work well. Just to show you that you don't have to be rich to go fishing. Which I believe you to be a humble young man. Its why I subscribed to your channel. Peace & tight lines

O I forgot the 3 Zebco 20/20 reels I bought this year were vintage reels that were taken care of very well and were cleaned and re-spooled. They were made somewhere around 1983. I bought them from a guy off eBay.

my dock demon works perfectly well for what I bought it for. a compact rod I can easily take on my kayak and not worry abbot losing it or breaking my more expensive rods. although, I really don't think they are for casting. I think they're more for dropping your line straight down like you might if you were fishing on a dock.

I bought mine for my son (I would NEVER have spent 50 bucks on a setup for a 7 yr old btw) and it's been worth every last dollar. I end up fishing his zebco over my (way) more expensive setup quite often, simply for the challenge of landing a larger fish on something so tiny. The reel isn't the best, I'll agree, but it's not really mean for longer casting either.

Especially if you are a beginner don't get a tiny rod like that. The leverage that you are missing makes them difficult to use and a beginning angler will get frustrated and quit and may miss out on a lifetime of joy if they hadn't have cheaped out.
