That’s the objective of the video, but you are not in that situation. You might emphasize to the extent that you lose all objectivity and become a racist bigot hell bent on vengeance against innocent people who had nothing to do with that. The people who want to divide and conquer the 99% are counting on that in my opinion.

@J-zb9vm Nonsense. White America did the dividing. Slavery was followed by debt peonage, racial lynching, Jim Crow etc. Jim Crow was not legally reversed until 1954. The structures of Jim Crow were still being dismantled in the 1970s.

@debradaniels6123 First, you don't have to say wth? In order to ask a question to be clarified, listen to the video. I am responding to the statement where he said the Europeans of today were not the ones who did the enslaving and that the Africans /Americans of today were not alive then However, the monetary, the legacy, the privilege is very must still alive today, and those that benefit then are benefiting now. My point was that if they weren't around when it is considered America's shame, a negative, why should they reap the positive benefits. You can't say we weren't the ones who enslaved, yet you're the descendants reaping the reward. So, decline the money and the privilege. If the whole rebuttal is you weren't born, then.

Francis Kemble, the British woman who married Butler and wrote Journal of a Residence on a Georgian Plantation 1838-1839, wrote many letters to her sister in England. In one such letter describing the slaves her husband owned and how they lived, she interestingly said "I swear these wretched people are every bit as slovenly as the Irish." I remember reading her book many years ago. I believe that's a fairly accurate quote which gives some idea of class distinctions in the British Isles.

nobull: Hahaha, YOUz a hoot. My Confederate gg grandfather was captured by those stinking Sherman forces at Macon, Georgia. Of course Sherman killed many black slaves at a crossing on the Georgia Ogeechee River near Savannah. I've had many relatives stationed at Fort Bragg. Go out into the street and ask people who Fort Bragg was named after. People couldn't tell you. Hahaha. Fort Liberty is a terrible name. It cost 8 million dollars for the name change. You're still in bondage unless you're a welfare queen. How about my reparations? I was drafted into the USA Army in 1967. I was conscripted. Cassius Clay didn't go because he had money and lawyers. He was a fighter and refused to fight for a corrupted USA government. I was paid $80 per month and got food, clothes, and a tent to live in. Slaves also earned side money and got a place to live with good food along with clothes. I was made to go to the Republic of South Vietnam in 1968 under bondage or go to a chain gang. Too bad your bitterness is destroying your life.

This was an amazing work. I got one issue, even though I have nothing but love for Obama he has no slave lineage which means hes not one of us he is African American and we still have not had a descendant of American slavery to become president of the United States.

We should celebrate any shade of Black rising to the highest posts. I used to frequent Hollywood Park casino around Los Angels. I knew an Ethiopian dealer who told me about the lady living with her grandmother back home. She is our slave she tells me; I bit my tongue not wanting to stop her story. "Is this still common"? "Many families have them" her calmness gave me the willies. Slavery was alive and well in the Caribbean! it's still practiced today in the Dominican Republic. Next time you enjoy a cup of coffee know there's a 98% chance the sugar came from Batey plantations in the Dominican produced by enslaved Haitians. Willie Lynch perfected his breaking of slaves on the Islands. It was so important to Southern slave holders, that they paid over 800,000 for his system. We suffered around the world my brother. We must stop looking for reasons to continue dividing.

I have always had an interest in my genealogy and DNA where my cousins and brothers could care less! One is legally married to a Kenyan and the other is involved with a Caribbean. These women know nothing about our family history, stories and culture. I can't understand why my brothers don't have the desire to want to know and pass that part onto their children. These kinds of Black Americans will miss out!!!

Hahaha, YOUz a hoot.

My daughter responded, "but I will be the first Black woman president" We played the game so she could thread where future presidents usually do.
