If you use a larger bowl to mix your powder in, it'll decrease the amount of time you need to stir and it'll reduce the lumps. Claire's Crafty Corner has lots of videos on eco pours and she gives you pointers on all kinds of cool things to do with it. They're still adorable. It's a major learning curve from traditional resin.

Steve McDonald also. He uses a large pot to stir it for that reason. It does have the consistency of plaster. And Steve also uses spray sealer on his too.

I've also seen them sift the powder into the water instead of dumping the water into the powder. Makes it easier to stir.

A few things. It stirs better in a bowl. And it does better if you add the powder to the water. No, you don't need gloves. Some people swear you need a respirator because it's a powder. But it's called an eco resin for a reason. You only have about 5 minutes to 8 minutes max to mix, color, and pour. Adding water isn't going to give you more time. I honestly think you need the JDiction 25-minute work time. When you have too much water, the water is either going to separate and come out of the bottom of the mold, or it will just not cure. Eco resin doesn't grab stuff like resin does. You do better to add designs after it cures. So make the coasters then stencil them. With eco resin, you don't have to worry about sweating. Jesmonite sweats, but it has a liquid catalyst instead of using water. When you have too much eco resin made, don't panic. Grab a silicone mat, color the eco resin, marble it, whatever. Then dump it on the mat and spread it very thin. Once it cures, break it up....now you have more terrazzo chips. If by chance you break a piece pulling from a mold. Just like a ceramic, glue it back together. Eco resin can take more water, but not that much. When using the calculator I sent you, you are already adding a little more water. That's all I can think of right now. Please go hunt a few videos of people using eco resin. Paint might cover the spots on the coasters. You can also paint with eco resin. Mix a very tiny amount and brush it on thinly. Let it cure. Maybe next time, do a private live with me and you. I'll help you. We will call it a collab, and then you can edit and post it. Ok, I think that's really it.

If you have leftover mixtures, you can make your own terrazzo chips by spreading them out on a silicone mat. The best way to get consistent color is to mix the color into the water and then add it to the powder. I love this video. Thanks for sharing it. Chris

They are cypress knees. I enjoy your Vedic’s more than anyone else’s. I’m the lady who made porcelain dolls for many years. My name is Rose, but this comes up under my son’s name. I’m on his account. We are from Florida too. I did a lot of cameos out of porcelain and stoneware. And I make Native American and southwest style jewelry. I’ve recently started doing jewelry with resin. My son has been making coffee tables with the resin river running thru them. He gets lots of orders for them. That’s how I was introduced to resin. You mentioned dogs……we that’s me too. My husband and I were dog breeders for 50 years we mostly had Bichons and std poodles. I knew practically all the breeders in the south. We were NOT puppy mills, rather selective breeders. Anyway, I love what you’re doing. I feel like I know you personally. My hubby passed away 6 years ago and I am actively crafty 76 yr old. My name is Rose. Thanks for all your teaching.

You have 30 seconds to mix then pour. Mixing any longer causes it to get thick because it starts to cure just that fast. I tried to warn you on FB when I posted the pics of the shells and trays i poured but you didnt believe me😂😂😂 and the best way ive found for coloring it is to color the water with mica powder before adding it to the resin powder❤

Michelle, I made the exact same mistakes by adding too much water. Consequently I found out my coasters were not level at all when I took them out of the molds, plus those awful air bubbles! Try working around a very thick kind of mixture, literally looking like pudding (sorry for metaphor) and stir slowly by adding water gradually. For the air bubbles, rub a little casting mixture over the surface when the coasters are completely dry (usually after 24 hours and I’m living on an island ). Sanding paper is a must when working with white cement or casting powder. Et voila!

When you mix 1 to 3 ratios, think of it as 1/4 and 3/4. If you need to make a total of 10 oz., mix 2.5 ozs. of whatever the smaller amount is (water or powder) and 7.5 ozs of the water or powder. If it’s 1 to 2 parts, think thirds, 1 to 5 parts, think sixths, etc.

Michelle , you had me laughing so hard. It is redemption, you made those two most adorable animals. Oh my gosh , what you did with that unicorn is stunning & amazing!! ❤ Steve McDonald uses that stuff a lot & he uses a large container for that very reason. It does have the consistency of plaster which is quite different then the resin , I am sure. And yes, he does the tapping & he also lifts it & drops it , ( not too high though) to make all the bubbles rise & he does his squiggy , wiggy to make sure the stuff is in the right places.. Steve uses that & ones like the unicorn & the moose and such & gets those little paint pots with a paint brish & sells them as paint your own kits. Very cute. Watching you trying to work with it , is why I fear trying to use that & the polyurethane resin. I am just learning to get the hang of resin & uv resin. But I applaud you for your perseverance & sharing the do's & don'ts . Bless your heart , Michelle! 🤗 OH and just for another tidbit. Steve uses 1 to 1 part white glue & water to seal, lets it dry & then uses either matte or gloss modge podge to finish. Never uses alcohol spray to get the bubbles out.

The little unicorn is awesome! Brilliant save on the missing ear and the horn crack! She is just adorable! I can't speak much on the mixing process, but I had the thought that using a shallower container to mix would at least give you access to the bottom. My other thought was setting up the water and powder as individual portions for each mold. Interesting on the powders not adhering, but they are designed to work with resin, and resin like substances. Oh! Could you seal the coasters, or encase them in a thin layer of resin, drill holes in them.... then use one of the pieces of wood you were gifted to make a wind chime sort of thing?? Hope you had a blessed Easter.

Use a much larger mixing bowl. Any leftover casting resin can be crumbled up and used as chips for terrazzo. There is a learning curve because the difference between resin and casting powder is huge. You will get it! Do not spray the mold with alcohol to release the item from the mold. You will get it Michelle! Try contacting the company for advice about mixing. I know you’re busy but also watch some videos. 😊oh my gosh the unicorn and moose turned out so cute! Love the glaze also.

It isn't plaster powder. It's a rational of 3:1.

My original measurements were exactly 3:1 as per the directions 🤔

@glitznglitterbymichelle1 you measured correctly, so what on earth is going on. Maybe an email to Let's Resin? I have only seen people use Jesmonite and the eco pour powders. Claire serves the powder first as it clumpy otherwise. But it still looks very runny- thinner than crepe batter. I hope you find the source of the issue as I can't seem to find jesmonite here!

It literally is what you mix when and not the amounts. The water should be measured and in the mixing cup first. Add powder slowly stirlring as you add it to the water. I've used this a lot and bought it from Michaels. The colors are okay but I'm still working on getting darker colors and order some jesmonite dye from etsy which I can't wait to try. The precolored powder is really colorful but still not as strong a color as the image on the packages the product comes in. I'll pray for your success!

I've only used resincrete and have not had a problem with it except for one time I used a syringe to pull the liguid up and then onto the mold. Yeah, I never stirred it so it ended up with it cured on the bottom of the container and not on the mold. So lesson learned there. You cannot take forever to piddle around with fussy molds for sure. Once I tried to do the project outside and the e=wind came up. Definitely don't try this outside if it's windy. It was literally blowing in the wind everywhere....

Whenever I use this I add the water first and then the powder. Mixes easier.

I use a 1/4 cup for measuring and do 3-4 scoops powder to 1 water, adding gradually and a little extra if needed, to a milky consistency. It's very forgiving, the problems you had were more about the mould than the product. It's not suitable for any moulds with fine detail, eg, unicorn. I just walk away and forget them for 2-4 hours. Love your videos...😎👌💜🌷

Just a suggestion -- maybe next time -- pour the water in a little at a time -- like when you're thinning out flour or cornstarch for gravy -- eliminate the lumps as you stir -- adding the water a bit a a time -- I don't know -- it may do the trick -- doesn't hurt to try, right? Hope this helps! Peace!

The leftover can be used as a filler for large resin powder molds NOT THROUGH IT AWAY you can still use it.

U should add the powder to the water slowly and it will work better that way and a quick works better too

Michelle I think they are all still adorable but I was thinking that maybe do a thin coat of resin with starrynight alcohol in it and might mask those little parts you do not like .Just keep on doing it you will get it.Practice makes perfect.Blessings to you both❤😃
