Using acrylic can reduce the strength and also take longer to cure, right? Why not use pigments meant for the medium?

@claytonjames4779 I've nothing any problems as long as you don't add too much however water based paints are better than acrylic. Otherwise, I use mica powder or cement tints. These work well, too, and don't affect the strength.

how do you estimate the amount of casting material you need??

Some people use water, weigh that, then use that amount as the total.
