thanks for another accurate video, my 1.9 non turbo keeps losing oil , I've been told to use mineral oil, as they vaporize standard 2040, there is no obvious leak & no smoke from exhaust ,so I'm sort of believing it ,loses more if I go above 70 any ideas? trev

Does it matter if you use 10w40 for the 1.9td abl engine? I only ask, as the manual for this engine states 5w30.

I have been using 10w40 for the past 16 years on this van from 85,000 miles to 170,000 miles. Engine is very quiet and smooth.

Which bolts are you undoing with the socket wrench?

The bolts for the under tray and the sump bolt.

Pity VW didn't cut a service hole in the belly pan for oil changing - on a work vehicle time is money when servicing.
