4498 Sir Nigel Gresley BACK OUT OF SERVICE at SVR Bridgnorth Workshop 02/04/22

SNG back in the workshop at SVR Bridgnorth after recent test runs with reported regulator concerns.
Take a close up look at this stunning A4 class locomotive mid-repair as she sports her Wartime Black livery.
Hopefully she'll be operational again soon in-time for the SVR Spring Steam Gala for 2022.

It's when you seem up close and are able to examine the heavy engineering and robust components that you really get astonished at the idea of things like this barrelling along at 110mph quite happily...

Ah poor Nigel. On the other hand though - that's why you do test-runs! It would've surprised me more if they found nothing wrong at all after such an extensive overhaul :) Hopefully they manage to fix the problem easily and she'll be back on her feet quickly. Either way beautiful close-ups of such a stunning machine, thank you. Wish I could be there to see her myself!

I’m not keen on the black livery either, green with lined orange & black suits the A4’s best in my opinion. Hope they iron out the issue with the loco soon and have it back on the main line showing it’s paces like it was designed for.
