Hello hello hello! to my Sydney viewers - what restaurants have you been to since lockdown? To my non-sydney viewers - how is everything going where you're at???
@nuyoo65043 жыл бұрын
I would probably chew thru my leg to not need to quarantine to and back in order to travel. But otherwise, can't complain.
@emilyn41313 жыл бұрын
Brisbane, Queensland has no more movement/lockdown restrictions for months so most restaurants have been up & running for a while if you'd like to come and review the Asian scene!
@andong77483 жыл бұрын
I don’t think I’ve been to any restaurants since lockdown. I’m still doing everything within my 5km radius. BTW I live in Eastwood
@snoopymelb66763 жыл бұрын
Lockdown has been eased in Melbourne however entering in Restaurants or hair salon you have to be fully vaccinated showing your vaccination certificate before you entering. Some companies have been told that their employee have to be fully vaccinated no jab no job.

Looks delicious! A request if you have time. Sydney is about to lose a piece of food history. The iconic Marigold yum cha in Chinatown will close forever in a few weeks after decades of feeding Sydneysiders. Any chance of a visit before they do?

Compare to Naruto in the same group, this one has thicker beef with gas cooking rather than charcoal so customers can control the fire better & feel full faster within 90 mins.

have never been to kuro sakura before- looks amazing and will check it out. my favourite JBBQ spot is suminoya in the city- highly recommend! Incredible variety of japanese dishes + great meat quality (I just eat the rib fingers all day) + potato salad (its nuts, no joke).

suminoya is the place in Martin place right? i really like that place too! i rmb their menu is quite extensive too, pretty sure more extensive than this one
@adrianchan97313 жыл бұрын
@@JaniceFung yep in Martin place. It is 50 dollars for weekdays without the premium, or 60 dollars for premium. Menu is super comprehensive and it hits the spot. They even have okonomiyaki on a stick?? Haha Service is super fast. When you order, expect the food in a couple minutes (takoyaki and stuff will take longer- they make it to order on most days)- genuinely think it is a great dining experience overall!

i've been here a few times, i'd say it's good but nothing amazing. the quality of the meat and service really varies and i feel like they rush you sometimes. that being said i love the vibe and location its a very convenient spot
@lordwhis16303 жыл бұрын
Yes. It was good the first time, and second was abysmal. They delayed serving the food then told me my time is up. A 30 min delay for 1.5hrs eating time is significant.

I went to Kuro Sakura today... the poor service left a bad taste in my mouth. Basically, their goal is to give you the bare minimum of what you paid for. We had to chase up our order so many times and they made up various excuses for why they couldn't provide. If you're looking for a good Japanese BBQ restaurant, there are just so many other better options in Sydney (a good one is Yakiniku Yokocho in Regents Place).
@yesbeautyfly Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately Yokochu is not a buffet so having the same amount of similar food would be far more than $50 easily. According to this video, this CP ratio is still high when compared to cheaper Butchers Buffet which has only 1 type of thin like paper wagyu & dearer Gyuzou (prices vary a lot: which day, lunch or dinner, cash or card) which has more marbling in different types Wagyu.
@shanwong-xf2nq Жыл бұрын
Yakiniku yokocho is not a worthy option as a tiny small plate of meat with 5 small piece costs up to 18 aud. Expensive af😂

I really like sweet ginger tofu pudding. Almost every time I go to NYC I stop at a dim sum place and they have it. Not sure if this is a typical dim sum item but it is so good.
@LinaLina-lb3zb3 жыл бұрын
Nice wagyu beef. It makes me salivating. It is quite a good deal for all you can eat wagyu I think :) and the tofu pudding first time i see the savoury style, with the chopped pickle, spring onion, looks like the topping seen on a traditional singaporean dish chui kue..

Thank you Janice for introducing so many nice food places. I definitely want to try out this Great Wall Tofu place. I grew up having the savoury tofu pudding for breakfast back in my hometown which we call Tofu Head豆腐脑, which I don't understand why😅. In my memory we had daylily vegetable黄花菜 in it. It was so yummy! I don't seem to be able to find the same type in Sydney but this Great Wall tofu store is definitely a place to check out. Thanks again~~

You should also try Touka in Parramatta for yakiniku! It's a la carte and they also have set menus. The quality is really good - better than those buffet places and I find I end up paying around the same amount in the end.

Tonight I tried Kuri Sakura so I can confirm this Japanese BBQ ALL-YOU-CAN EAT is close to the best deal so far in Sydney. Naruto in a short distance will be my next destination, after that I should have conclusion. $49.9 promotion deal on Mon-Thurs can still 4 marbling beef. The people who live in Chatswood are supposed to be rich, why this buffet is so cheap?

The wagyu steak place looks amazing making me want to fly back to Sydney! The butter corn the restaurant had is what they corn cheese corn and they use mozzarella cheese instead in Canada

I believe savoury tofu pudding is a more Northern Chinese dish and sweet tofu pudding is more Southern. I spent part of my childhood in Central China and tofu pudding is a common breakfast streetfood. They sold both the sweet and savoury but as a kid I always had the sweet one!

Great place to go, although it is expensive, but it is worth every penny. The restaurant is on sale on certain days of the week (excluding weekends), as well as on your birthday. 😁 Many choice of side dish and meat for BBQ, must try Wagyu Fingers & fresh seafood. Also I recommend the lotus chips, the sticky rice cake with condensed milk too... 🤤 I really like the mini ice creams you get along with the buffet but the special desserts was not that great 😐

The Japanese feast looks great but I can't stand time limits and being rushed when dining, so I've been put off trying a few different ones here. I don't wanna rain on anyone's parade, but you could spend $45 on wagyu beef or some other scotch fillet from the butcher or meat wholesaler's in South Strathfield and then cook it yourself. It would prob last you like 2-4 meals, depending on how much you eat. It's more cost effective.
@JaniceFung2 жыл бұрын

Butchers Buffet in Strathfield definitely had just 1 choice of Wagyu & Angus, so as Butchers Buffet in Cabramatta & China Town. When I saw the $60-$110/kg Wagyu beef, I prefer buffets.

@@JaniceFung I checked the prices in your link. This buffet & many Wagyu buffets such as 4/339 Sussex Street are much better deal than cook at home.
