I worked at a Dollar Tree in Jackson WY. I was a cashier and every week on the same day of the week a guy came in and bought hundreds of books. His cart would always be full of them. After about his third visit I asked him, whay do you do with them all. He said he resold them on Ebay, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc and made 1000's of dollars a month. Some he kept or gave as gifts but most he sold!

Ever purchased one that was signed by the Author?? I still have several brand new books that were signed by the author. I almost returned a couple one time, because I already had a copy in my collection, but I realized at the last second they were the wrong books. In truth they were some of the few that I had not looked inside and noticed that they were signed. The cashier's eyes lit up for a few seconds, until I quickly retracted and then brought the unsigned versions back. LOL... There was a time several years ago, when I used to buy about 2-5 new books every time I went into the $$ tree... I ended up with at least 1000 books. The total number of books I bought filled more than 35 boxes and more than 95% of the books were hard back books. Most of the boxes were those large boxes that hold 10-12 reams of paper for your printer, like when you buy in bulk/by the case, from Staples or any other office supply store. My boxes were slightly nicer and a little larger, but similar to that style of box. More than a third of a large moving truck had boxes of books, with at least 90% that I purchased at the $$ store. About 12 years ago, I came up with this same idea... While in college; I used to buy my textbooks online and then sell them back to the campus bookstore for more money than they cost online. Or I would sell them online if the bookstore's buy back price was too low. That's how I funded my book/textbook buying during my undergraduate programs and even my Master's program. I was doubling and tripling how much I spent on my college textbooks. Doing this, and then filling my addictive need to buy more books all the time at the && store, made me think about whether people were buying and then selling them online... and at the time I found no one that was doing it, but it worked if you were willing to take the time and get serious doing it. Anyone remember or ever use Half.com?? I've bought and primarily sold tons of books that way... I first learned about half.com, about a year or two after it first opened. My sister knew someone that I helped for a short time, selling tons of books there. He had thousands and thousands of books. It was as if the main library of a decent sized city, was moving to a different location, and all the books were stacked ready to be boxed, and some of them were already boxed, and then they were just left there unmoved. The space they filled was easily 2000 SqFt. & from 6-8' high of nothing but books. He had no idea how many were there or what books we might find. That was why I was helping. It was nothing but pure heaven for a bibliophile like me. :-D

I am unsure about the authors signatures, I will check go forward. I don’t know if I will sell my books maybe those books I have more than one copy. I met someone that has 28k books I was jealous. The movers thought I was joking about the boxes of books. They were not happy because I put fragile on the boxes. Most women get excited about shopping. I get excited about looking for books. But, lets just say, for argument's sake, that you can only sell ONE of those items per day. And lets say that's a 100$ item. And that the item costs $10 to acquire. Also I'm not going to factor in most of the fees, as that changes regularly, but I'll include the 2% knock off from Payability to show how a small percentage to increase turn around can be beneficial. If you have to wait 2 weeks before getting your money, the cycle will look like this. Day 1 Acquire 1 item, Sell 1 item, Day 2 - 13: waiting for money, nothing acomplished Day 14: paycheck received from Amazon 100 Day 14: 90$ profit, can afford 10 Items now If you get your money the next day after a sale, the cycle will look like this. Basically at some point either you're going to run out of the item/ resource, or everyone's going to have what they need and not need / want anymore. [which is why diversifying is so important for long term goals] But what this DOES illustrate is the power of exponential growth. The real numbers for what are likely to happen, are far less, I'm sure. But, I'm even more confident that the real numbers are, in fact, much higher than option 1. Because the money is constantly growing steadily instead of quick spurts. Also, because I know how comments sections are, I have no connection to payability. Nor this channel. But I do intend on looking into payability in the future to see if it's something that'd fit into my own specific workflow situation. If it's not, I won't use it. I'm just saying, don't disregard things without actually looking at them, and factoring in the big picture. You're doing yourself a big disservice. Failure to do so is why the majority of small businesses fail within the first couple years. Yet I've managed to keep mine going for almost 13 years.

I tried this. Several times on amazon and ebay craiglist. I wasnt able to sell any thing. I didnt even lose out luckily because most of time i get them fpr free. But finding whats going to sell..is the hardest fricking part

After you are an Amazon seller, you will be able to log in and use UPS with Amazon's rates -- a great deal for sure but something to be considered. Amazon has LOTS of warehouses and you might have 50 books and 40 of them go to one warehouse and the other 10 are spread out between 3 or 4 warehouses. There are all kinds of ways to work around that but, mainly, if you don't have enough product to make a decent sizes shipment you are going to be paying more. Not a naysayer. Amazon can turn some good money but you have to pay attention and know what you are doing -- read all of the online training and such because, otherwise you won't make any money and will have lots of troubles -- and don't forget, Amazon can kick you off, forever, without any explanation so you are always playing by their rules -- so you better know them. I don't think it is nearly as easy as it used to be to make money with retail arbitration.

Mario Pineda I print off a FNSKU label for each book. Shipments are devised by amazon so it’s not always 1 warehouse they get sent to, but usually if I list 75 or more books, it all ends up going to one place.

the Dollar store here, knows. They said, "These are books that would be thrown out....almost every one of these books is over run." If they don't sell at Dollar store they go into the dumpster. You are doing a good thing.

Where do you put what numbers in your listing interface. Try to make it idiot proof for us. I just found your channel earlier this week I just went out and got some isbn#'s today. Doing a little research for my area before I get started. I will need to get a credit card to open up an amazon sellers account.
