Regarding the picture of a young Kaiser Wilhelm. Did you know that he was born with a defect in his left arm. It was withered and shorter than his right arm. This photo is rare indeed as his left hand is shown holding a glove. The Kaiser (a grandson of Queen Victoria) was more often than not photographed with his left hand in his coat pocket. More often than not, he posed in such a way that the difference between the lengths of each arm was not discernible. 😊

🤔 The injury to Wilhelm’s left arm was caused during his birth. His mother was too small to give birth naturally, so a Caesarean section was performed. During the procedure the surgeons panicked at the difficulty facing them. One surgeon then grasped the left arm of the child and pulled him out. In so doing, a nerve was trapped at the shoulder. Despite the boy being almost tortured by misguided therapies, nothing saved his arm from remaining under developed. His mother, Kaiserine Victoria, neglected her son. But Wilhelm was devoted to his grandmother, Queen Victoria and was present when she died.
