You keep me entertained and at the same time amazed at your building prowess. Keep going Mark. Love watching.

Hey Mark, I’m immensely enjoying your build series. After fourty years I entered the Rc hobby again. Started this summer with a foamy to get into flying again, but in my hart I’m a builder. In my teenages I build a lot of static model airplanes an a glider from balsa. But that’s a long time ago. I’m a carpenter in my sparetime nowadays and I’m reasonably skilled in woodworking, but building a rc-plane from scratch was a just one step ahead. So I bought a Tiger Moth balsa kit. All laserprinted parts, but it’s a good starter kit and I enjoy it very much. But you inspire me to build my next project from scratch. Especially the laminating of the wingtips seems a very rewarding job. Thanks for sharing your skills and taking the effort of producing all your content on KZbin. I appreciate it very much.

Hi there, thanks very much, really appreciate the comment. It sounds like you are on the right path, with learning again on something simple and moving on to a kit, and great to hear you are wanting to build from scratch, it is very rewarding. Good luck with the journey, its great fun

Another very enjoyable video. This is what I love about this hobby. The satisfaction of seeing all your hard work come together. That thrill of building, covering and that first flight has kept me hooked for nearly 60 years. I must ask. Where did you get your balsa building board from ? Thanks again Mark.👍

Thanks Terry, absolutely couldn't agree more with your sentiment, and balsa is so nice to work with. The building board is from Slec - www.slecuk.com/balsa-building-board

Interesting to see you using only CA for this part of the build Mark. Is this quite satisfactory? I have read other opinions on this and would be interested in your view.
@MarkRobinson55510 ай бұрын
Hi there, I use CA for most of my building, although I do still use PVA, Aliphatic and epoxy where I feel its needed. I like using CA as it is instant, so when building a structure you know that the bits you have just glued are not going to move when you are adding and gluing other bits, particurally good when doing the main wings, if you glue a rib square, you know its not going to move. CA is strong and soaks into the timber forming good joints, never had an issue. Hope that helps

Hiya, Mark! She's coming along nicely. However, you've finally stumped me. What in the world is a ball nose?
@MarkRobinson55510 ай бұрын
Hahahaha, arrrh the English accent, that's a "Bull Nose" 😉 think this is a term used across the pond, isn't it? Thanks for your comments, pleased you like the video 😀
@richard147210 ай бұрын
@@MarkRobinson555 Okay, "bullnose." I looked it up. Apparently, it's a type of rounded trim used in building construction. No matter. Carry on, soldier!

What would you say in the US to describe the profile of a wing leading edge?
@richard147210 ай бұрын
@@MarkRobinson555 We just call it the leading edge. I'm reminded of the beginning builder who came to the field with a Goldberg Falcon 56 with a square leading edge. It still flew, of course. Just not as well as it should have. Live and learn, right?
