450 years of Martial Tradition

On 17 September 2023, a total of 17 Japanese Martial Arts traditions gathered on the grounds of the Aoi Aso Shrine in Hitoyoshi (Kumamoto Prefecture) to join in a votive demonstration. The occasion was the 450th anniversary of the foundation of Hyōhō Taisha-ryū.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the local community of Hitoyoshi Kuma and to everyone involved in kobudō for their unceasing support.
The participating ryūha were:
1. Heki Ryu Higo Takebayashi-ha Kyujutsu/Kenshin Ryu Jindaiko 日置流肥後竹林は弓術／謙信流陣太鼓
2. Yagyu Shinkage Ryu Heiho (Arakido) 柳生新陰流兵法（荒木堂）
3. Hyoho Taisha Ryu 兵法タイ捨流
4. Jigen Ryu Heiho 示現流兵法
5. Yakumaru Jigen Ryu 薬丸自顕流
6. Tennen Rishin Ryu 天然理心流
7. Unkou Ryu Kenjutsu 雲弘流剣術
8. Miyamoto Musashi Keishou Niten Ichiryu 宮本武蔵継承二天一流
9. Hozoin Ryu Takada-ha Sojutsu 宝蔵院流高田派槍術
10. Sekiguchi Ryu Battojutsu 関口流抜刀術
11. Mugai Ryu Iai Hyodo 無外流居合兵道
12. Hokushin Itto Ryu Hyoho 北辰一刀流兵法
13. Hontai Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu 本體楊心流柔術
14. Yagyu Shingan Ryu Taijutsu 柳生心眼流體術
15. Hyoho Niten Ichiryu 兵法二天一流
16. Hoki Ryu Iaijutsu Kumatani-ha 伯耆流居合術熊谷派

Absolutely beautiful. Seeing all the koryus together witnessing each others techniques must really be surreal. As someone who practices Ryushin Shouchi Ryu I hope to one day see this in Japan.
