I just received my MP mold in the mail it’s such a well crafted mold. Mine is a 125gr hollow point mold it’s a .359 so I can use these casted projectiles in 38 cal or 9mm. Just a RELLY nice mold I cannot wait to see how they run in my 9mm.

Great video, I just ordered the same mold, could you please share your best reloading data for the HP and flat point configuration.. I'll be shooting through a 1911.
@Beowulfsurvival3 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t get to the full video, was wondering if you had any excess powder buildup in the hollow point when coating the bullets and how you fly with that, I’m about to start pouring some 45-70 hollow points for subsonic and wondered if I would have any issues dry coating them. Thanks in advance bud.

I ordered the 452-200 but it wasn't hollow point. Was awhile ago. Will have to go on website and figure out what the hell I ordered. They got the 9mm correct.

I'm having a problem with my 200 grain swc cast bullets fitting into my acp casings after powder coating, I don't have a sizing die, is there a way I can fit the bullets into the cases without bulging them? U only coat them once and they come out uniform but my mold is 452-200 and uncoated they chamber fine but after coating they're about 453 and just fat enough they don't want to chamber in my 1911 I taper crimp them all and the bands are the problem. Do you have any suggestions besides getting a sizing die? Also that mold you used to make those hollowpoints is badass! What is it made out of brass or some kind of anodized steel?
@LoadsofBacon4 жыл бұрын
You're either going to need to get a sizing die, seat the bullets deeper, or both. Bullet size is key for cast bullets; pick up the sizing die. The mold is made from brass.

Do you know the model number of the comparable 9mm mold. And if I see it right a person can opt for a hollow point or no hollow point from same mold?
@LoadsofBacon4 жыл бұрын
The mold comes with pins that can be swapped to enable to to cast solid nose/no hollow point, a round hollow point, or a 5-sided hollow point. I received one mold, three sets of pins, and can cast the three different variations of bullets all dem the same mold. I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for in a 9mm bullet, but I'd suggest taking a look at his "MP 357 -125 HP PB" and his "9mm/38, 147-154, Bevel Base". I don't have any experience with those particular molds myself, but they do look promising.

You may want to take a look at NOE Molds as well. They use a slightly different hollow point pin design, but they also make great molds. I own and like multiple molds from both companies.

What if you dont powder coat?
@LoadsofBacon4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but if you don't powder coat then you should buy bullet molds that have lube grooves so that you can lube the bullets in a more traditional manner, such as with tumble lube, pan lube, or with a lubrisizer. You could also use a coating called Hi-Tek.

@@LoadsofBacon my question is what happens if i dont powder coat my bullets? If im casting my own bullets. Nice video and thanks for the reply : )
@LoadsofBacon4 жыл бұрын
Cast bullets need some sort of lubrication. Powder coat can serve that purpose, and there are a few other lubes that can work, but cast bullets loaded and shot with no lubrication will often result in excessive barrel leading.

Looks like that mold is no longer available
