Somebody needs to update his knowledge of TrueNAS, specifically related to TrueNAS Scale.

TrueNAS Core is BSD. TrueNAS Scale, which is where a lot of the dev work is going to, is Linux based with a much better VM functionality. I want to say it is also KVM based but I can't say for sure.
