Louise lives in her Tiny home that was built for her by a friend for roughly $45,000 Aud in a beautiful spot in a gum tree forest. She is a professional organizer and finds that living in a tiny house suits her well. Because prices of houses went up where she lives she was not able to buy a home and that forced her to look at other options which ended up being a blessing in disguise. @@CCelia1953 I am a poor judge of genuine character if I dont know the person. Anyone can present any persona they like by merely acting or focusing on trivial things or a couple of simple issues. Not questioning the integrity of the woman in this video. Over the years, I have learnt that "character" and "personality" are not the same attribute. In fact they are often totally unrelated. There are those rare individuals where their character and personality are essentially identical. Can you think of one such person CCCCelia1963?

I agree with you. Tiny is the way to go. At any age. I’m almost 70 and a 2bedroom house with a yard is a lot to care for. So the only issue would be the land or a place to put it.

I love how everything is not built-in! I'm sure that's what drives the price up for so many of these tiny homes. Not to mention, having built-ins limits the ability to change things up whenever you want. I love her home but I want my tiny to be my last home, so no lofts for me. Otherwise, everything is PERFECT!

Same here. Built-in narrow couch(es) with thin cushions don't look particularly comfortable. I would gladly give up the under storage space.

I had decided not to have lofts either, but I've since changed my mind. If I have stairs with a sturdy handrail, I want a huge loft for only my sewing/quilting room area.

There is one thing I've GOT to have! That is one of Zack's storage staircases so I can get to the loft easier AND store whatever I want to in the storage under the stairs!

I agree at an older age and physically not able to climb up and down ladder’s or stairs is a no for me. I love this tiny house otherwise. It’s beautiful. I myself would take out the window at the end of the tiny home in living room.Put in a trundle bed. Then I’d be happy with everything.

As the divide between the ultra rich and the poor increases, as the middle class disappears, ”they” may want us to move to trailer parks and call it ”tiny houses”. Also, these tiny houses pop up in nice landscapes. I thought we were to cluster housing, not sprinkle it over nature. I get it in Australia. It doesn’t work in Belgium.

Difficult for older age. If you are unwell or your balance is not good the bedroom is not optional. For toilet requirements at night especially for men would be a problem. Downstairs layout is great. All on one level is necessary for old age. I cared for my mother in law in her nineties and it was hard even on one level.

Beautiful home. I do have to question the $45,000 AUD price tag. I live in Australia not far from this home and you would struggle to build a shed for a car with that money. She did say it was built by a friend so if it was $45K just for the materials (no labor) then that may be possible but even then it's a stretch. Australia is crazy expensive particularly with getting tradesmen.

It's funny. I've owned a piece of property in norcal for fifteen years or so and have been spending a lot of time on it lately in a small construction office that I built with the intention of building a regular sized house. I'm coming to the conclusion that there's way more space than a person needs in your typical house for a lot of the reasons you specified here.

I love "Touch the planet lightly." I love that fact that there wasn't must rubble left over from the build. The regular building industry wastes soooo much. It's horrible. I personally do not like those built in 'sofa/storage/bed' things. They are extremely uncomfortable. To live Peace-Fully, Joy-Fully, and with a sense of spaciousness is wonderful. I can tell you 'stuff' will not bring any of that.

I did build a house myself in Germany. A 2 family house plus basement. In the end it was too big. Moved to Canada. Everything is bigger in North America. Even the houses. Bought a house in 2010. Brand new. Finished the basement myself. Did attach a brick patio 28x12 neighbors were jealous about. But 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, bonus room, big kitchen and living room area. For 3 people. Separation…. And you start thinking. For what? Nobody is actually using all this big houses properly. If you have 8 children. Then 4.5 bathrooms are fine. I moved to Panama. Building myself a 78m2 main floor house. Putting a 2nd level for much later in mind, and will finish it piece by piece. Construction costs? $20,000 - $25,000. Lot 500m2 was $14,000. Looking at the Tiny House movement. If I would have build a 50m2 one level house, it would cost me around $10,000 here in Panama. $45,000 or much more for a trailer size house? Ridiculous. Sorry.
