Is there any chance to know what modifications were made to get that 460hp? Cooler added?
@BaeHarrier4 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, sure! The engine is boggo stock when it comes to internals. But we added: Sports cat, manifolds, air intake, chargecooler with separate cooling system incl. pump, SC pulley and an ECU remap. Done. If you want more than 460 you need a bigger supercharger. 480 hp is safe without forged internals. With forged internals easily >500 hp.
@anthonystafoggia83164 жыл бұрын
@@BaeHarrier Thanks man, that's a hell of an answer and I didn't expect that many details. It's good to know tho...I have one myself (350 Sport) and just couldn't pass 390HP with a air-box (air intake) and a remap. Tried to change the pulley but the car warmed up too fast and I figured out a separate cooling system was obviously needed so it's now a peper press on my desk. Guess getting more power without investing 10Ks in a air-cooler will now be difficult...and it's quite a dilemma. I'm using it on track (a lot) and wouldn't want to "unsafe" it... Anyway, big thanks for those infos and enjoy your ridings ;))
@BaeHarrier4 жыл бұрын
@@anthonystafoggia8316 Hey Anthony, Yeah, decent answers on YT are not too common. Exactly, no chance lifting it over 360 hp without an intercooler setup. The 350 suffers from mild heat soak (depending on track and ambient temperature obviously), but it's really not worth thinking about. Especially if you compare it to the heat soak issues the old 2ZZ four pots were suffering from (been there, done that). The 380 does push 380 for what... a few seconds until it has to alter the engine map. If you would like to go the charge cooling route there are a few options out there, if I'm not mistaken. - Komo-Tec - Boe - The oem solution which the Hethel boys & gals use for the 410/430 From what I've learned you can get up to 490 hp with the oem setup (big tank, different SC) but I'm not sure it's worth the €€€/$$$. The 460 is super reliable and lightning quick, totally limited by my poor driving abilities. So it's always a good idea to extract as much as possible from the 350 where it shines anyway: Under braking and in the corners. After that go for a power hike! :o)

@@BaeHarrier right...? oh we petrol heads have very intriguing imagination. personally though, i'd prefer a blower. because of it's consistent pressure throughout the RPM range..unlike turbochargers, they need a second or 2 to spool up. a proud owner of a 2GR-FE like myself wish for a blower with clutched pulleys. hard to find here in SEA. but for performance vehicles like offroad 4x4 diesel foggers and 4G63, oh yes turbocharged is the way to go.
@BaeHarrier3 жыл бұрын
@@QAT4969 Yup, totally agree. I do also perfer superchargers as you don't lose the nice power curve of a n/a setup. Believe it or not, this Exige featured here is mine. :o) We've also got another review coming with a new shifter. My GF has got a BMW M140i which has been fiddled a little (~440'ish hp) and the B58 is insane. So much torque! But it woudln't suit the Lotus, the power delivery is way too extreme and abrupt. Nothing for the circuit. I like it the linear way, screaming right into the limiter. Btw. SEA. Like SEA, WA? If so: Small world. My cousin moved to Des Moines 20 years ago. ;)
