I have a 2014 S3 with the same ECU and TCU tune, a garret powermax 1 turbo, intercooler, high pressure fuel pump, and I'm making 449.something BHP. Reckon E85 could get me to 500?

How do u find lag with the garrett,,similar to is38? I'm looking at the garrett,,500 wld be very hard for it probably

I think my tuner told me about 20-25 AWKW increase switching to e85 so it would be close if you are talking flywheel hp, but probably need LPFP too

@17VWR I thought the power Max wld be very similar,,,it's hard to get info as many people overlook it. How do u find the top end compared to the is38? ,, it seems very similar to the is38 on E85 ,,,, how many kw did u get atw & tourqe? . I'd say on e85 300kw.atw Max,,, personally I'd rather a bit less power but a more responsive turbo like yours imo. But they do say V5 is king lol

@@1lime1000 It depends on the dyno you go to. Galano told me peak AWKW power numbers are virtually identical & neither turbo even on e85 will hit 300 AWKW on a dyno that is accurate. Mine is 284 AWKW & 492 nm. The improvement in the Garrett comes purely from more pull between 4500 & 6500 rpm & its reliability compared to the is38.. Yes V5 is king, i have been in one on e85 & it was crazy, just got to rev it more to get it going. I am very happy with my down low punchy turbo though & don't want to push stock internals any further. - for now anyway :))

I see so many variations of what people use for supporting hardware and how do you find it opposed to just regular 98 tune. Also do you recommend doing ball joints (There's 034 and Whiteline, not sure on differences).

If the car is lowered yes. It corrects the roll centre. Are you going to feel a difference?? Maybe, maybe not. Depends how you drive & how dialed in you are to your car. I have whiteline RCO ball joints in the car now, I took 034 out. I’d say the 034 are a better ball joint on their own but the way I had my suspension set up I ran into some guard rubbing issues with the 034 because they push the wheel out further into the guard than the whiteline do When I bought 034 ball joints I hadn’t planned on putting coil overs in the car so I wanted the extra camber they offer Once I bought coilovers it allowed me to then get the neg camber I wanted from the top which is more effective at missing the guard. I’ve since rolled the front guards so they would probably work now if I put them back in but 3 track alignments is enough for 2023 :) I was always balancing aesthetics & performance when making hardware purchases, not just performance. 98 is very average to drive on after using e85 The Galano software is king IMO & can run either 98 or e85 or mixture of both at any time Whenever there is at least 60% e in the tank it’s full send About 25 AWKW difference which is quite noticeable 30% less kms to a tank though

@@17VWR Thank you heaps for the detailed info! I ended up buying the 034 as I saw mentions of improvement without cons (very weary about ruining the comfort of the car). I saw comments mentioning they add track width and may cause rub. I was planning to add spacers to current wheel setup (18x8.5+42)for aesthetics so think they won’t be a problem/do what I want. Also on coils so correcting roll centre is a plus I am on APR Stage 2 with TVS DSG right now (no real complaints) and have heard only great things about Galano. I was eyeing Galano Stage 2 Flex which on papers would give about ~30kw more based off the figures I’ve seen. Was weary if that would be a noticeable difference on street especially for the cost for the new tune and supporting flex hardware.

Galano mentioned the TVS dsg tune to be as good as his so I doubt you’ll have to pay for dsg retune if you decide to go ahead If you are on coilovers you have dampening adjustment & your on 18’s so ride should never really be a problem no?

@@17VWR That’s good to hear if the DSG tune is considered comparable by them! I will reach out to them!And yeah ride is totally tolerable/decent at the moment to me. I was mainly referring to extra noise of vibrations which would annoy me more then ride comfort. Seems like it won’t introduce those things. Haven’t installed them yet to verify, but seems straight forward!

Just bought a 2018 golf r and looking at Pacortech to do a stage 1 atm it’s stock. It’s only going to be driven 1-3 days a week. What gains will I see. Who worked on your car Pacortech? Your cars a beast mate

Take it to Carbonautohaus mate. You won’t be disappointed. Legends! They tune Galano too Stage 1 is a good jump over stock 👌
