Hi there! I have been watching your Finland videos (since I live in Finland). When you announced that you were going to go north into Norway, I was hoping to see some glimpses of my summer place there. And YES! At 17:01 you can literally see where I have my boat in the summers. Straight across the bay! I'm glad you had a good stay in Smørfjord!

Wow!! That is so incredible! Both countries are so beautiful. Thank you for watching :)

Oh that looked so fun you guys. I’m so happy you were able to experience all of that. 💗

Yeah. In at least the Northern Norway some drivers are mad. On my trip with a couple of my friends there was oncoming traffic in the mountains in heavy fog going fast. Crazy.

Sami people are allowed to kill reindeer because they literally own them. They are not wild animals. Every reindeer is tagged, obviously you can only slaughter the ones you own.

That makes sense!! Thank you for watching :)

Reindeer are always someone's property. The owner can be read from the ear tag that is cut into the ear. So if you "hunt" reindeer, it's a bit like hunting cows or sheep. And the owners don't hunt those reindeer either, but they are collected together in the reindeer round up, where the summer fawns are marked with the ovners mark and the reindeer that go to the slaughter are selected. But I must say that you have been here for the best time of your life. The warmest autumn ever(?) and even when the sun's activity varies in cycles of about 11 years, you had an incredible Northern Lights year.

That is good to know!! We heard it was a very warm autumn, so crazy!! The lights were incredible. Thank you for watching :)

Reindeer are semi-domesticated animals. The reindeer are marked with unique ear notches that indicate ownership, an essential part of managing herds. Herding cooperatives, or siida, coordinate the movement and grazing of reindeer and organize activities like gathering and marking calves.

That jellyfish is a Red Lion's Mane jellyfish. They remain poisonous for awhile after they get beached on the shore.

When my parents were visiting Norway, their first dog Nora, a miniature poodle, didn't realize where the waterline was since the water was so clear, and my gosh was the little diva SO offended that her royal little paws got wet like that! The audacity! 😅🤣

Hahaha that is hilarious!! The water is so clear!

You did see a Burning jellyfish. Interesting to see your enthusiastic reaction to conditions that are natural for us who Are living here, in The arctic.

Hahah it is fun to experience different conditions than you are use to! Thank you for watching :)

Umm... Not sure how to say this, but when you crossed the bridge and turned left to drive to Karasjok, you chose the wrong side of the river. The road from Utsjoki to Karigasniemi is one of the national sceneries in Finland, many times voted as the most beautiful road in Finland due to the view of the Teno river, it´s valley and mountains on the Norwegian side. The E6 road on the Norwegian side? Just bush, can´t see shit. I know that time is limited, and one cannot see everything, but... ;)
@samunaesi77273 ай бұрын
Yeah was just about to write this there's also the rastigaisa mountain that you can see from the Finnish side which is one of the tallest mountains in all of Finnmark. And the road is in much better condition only adds maybe 10mins to the trip.
@JacobandJennyTravelАй бұрын
Oh no!! Well if we ever make it back, we will take that way instead haha!! Thank you for watching friend :)

Oulu is not central Finland, but northern Finland my friends! And you really need to learn where the ocean is! 😁
@TheAlex294943 ай бұрын
while I agree, it's still technically only halfway to the most northern part of finland so I can see why it would be considered central looking at the map
@nikoa973 ай бұрын
@TheAlex29494 Only a person who has never been to Finland would say that Oulu is a part of central Finland, everyone can see where it is on a map.

May I make a suggestion for a place I don’t believe you have ever visited, where they have the true Polar Nights…..24 hours of darkness. It is north of Norway, and it’s called Longyearbyen, in Svalbard.

6:06 Close? That fits like 3 english doubledecker buses side by side and no problem. That road fits like 4 normal cars side by side. No speeding in Norway, their fines will destroy you. 20:19 You should be aiming for car crash or traffic ticket. Or maybe both in same incident 😂 And I think you did already the "enjoy fika", like everytime you drink coffee

The border from EU to Norway is straightforward for people (shared freedom of movement), but gets more complex if you bring goods across the border (not in the EU customs union). If those roads scare you, it's probably best you don't drive any country roads in the UK... 😂 So jealous of your luck with the lights. We had crap weather in Helsinki over that night when they were red and everywhere. 🙁
