Hi guys. Thank you for the nice video about our Stockholm, an old expression about Stockholm is that it is called the "Venice of the North" because of all the waterways in the city. Now you know. Tack care Lasse🫶

The way you pronounce Kiruna sounds really weird to me. I mean, it's not carabien or corona.

Compared to New York City. Stockholm is very mild compared to the sounds of NYC.

The Old Town dates from the 13th century but most buildings are from the 1600s and 1700s. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl.

I have a problem when videos say "This is Sweden" and the people in it only stay in Stockholm. Sure Stockholm is the capital of Sweden but Sweden is so much more then just it's capital. Go outside the city to experience the real country for a change. Ive seen you did that and that i like. So manny videos where people dont experience the real contry and stays in a big city.

Something you failed to mention or don't know is that you were in the Old Town and right by the Royal Palace. Gamla stan has more expensive fika than other places.

I hear that "Stejk", a foodtruck on the site of the old townhall, is the place to eat if you listen to "the Internet". If you listen to me I'd say Spill, Camp Ripan and Icehotel. Love that you visited Kiruna!

Also, about the food, the amount of good restaurants is too numerous to list but a Swedish classic first course is toast Skagen (if you like shrimps). A good fish restaurant is Sturehof (lite pricier maybe?). Another good restaurant is Gondolen with a stunning view since its in a glass bridge high up (close to Gamla Stan) but its even a little pricier.

Another fun fact, Gamla Stan was built in the 13th century and has some of the city's oldest restaurants, bars and shops. According to a history nerd i spoke to - before it was built, Stockholm was a poor, dirty and unappealing little "city". So much so that when the king at the time died dignitaries were so ashamed of it that they didn't want to invite European royals to the funeral - hence they decided to do something about the city and built Gamla Stan

The oldest building in Stockholm is in fact that church (Storkyrkan) which was built in 1306. Other than that the oldest still existing house is about 20-30 years younger.

Haha, love Jenny's "American entusiasm"! Glad you liked our city. Stockholm really is great a nice summer day. Old town is very touristy and expensive, but hope you had time to see other areas too. All the best!

I'm Swedish and I love Stockholm. I just don't love lots of the people who inhabit the inner city. They are the ones who are sucking the life out of the rest of the country, particularly by flooding it with migrants who will end up replacing the Swedish population, while they themselves benefit from ever increasing housing prices and being favoured by the anti-Swedish ruling class.

The red colorful building at that "little square" is "Schantzska huset" and was built in 1650 :) They also found out about 10 years ago that some of the buildings they thought were built in the 1600s and 1700s were actually built in the 1400s as well. Not at that square though. It sure is "the old town"!

Ever heard the expression "Cities aren't loud, cars are loud", you'll notice that in alot of europe soon as the cars go the tranquility steps in unless it's giga crowded (Looking at you, Louvre)

The clown is the logo for ice cream, so you see that guy, and there's a kiosk selling ice cream bars and cones!! They have that clown in many places all around Europe. It's a brand of ice cream products called GB Glace/GB Glass. 🍦🍨🍧

Your viewpoint was just a liiiiitle bit to low. You should have been on top of the hill on Södermalm just behind you. Sad you missed it, but still cool to see someone explore your own home town (of choice)! :-)

Get the transport pass for metro, buses, and trains. With that, transportation is quite reasonable. To pay per trip is a very unwise way to get about.
