Ancillary Sword is my favorite in the series!! I’m glad you enjoyed it, lots of people seem to dislike the turn the series takes with that one but like you said I just love Breq and all the scenes of her outsmarting everyone around her

My health is definitely something I have been prioritizing lately. I have had some health scares, and it was a huge wake up call. We are only given one body, and we need to take care of them. I also have anxiety around going to the doctor, but I fear the consequences of *not* going more. Even with the ACA, the US healthcare system is...well, it has problems, to put it politely.

OOh good, I thought I was alone in having a rough start to the new year when it came to my reading. This time last year I had 9-10 books done but so far I'm at 2 and a novella, haha. What a slump it's been! I think I'll do the same and force a marathon over the weekend :)

Gretchen Rubin maintains that going to the doctor as you should leads to long-term happiness because you are taking care of yourself. I also must reward myself for going to appointments I don't want to do. Blood draws don't bother me. The dentist bothers me.

I am really feeling the February slump! I just can’t figure out what I feel like reading. If you haven’t already, you should check out the Dangerous Damsels series by India Houlton (they do lean into some Victorian era romance tropes that are a bit whatever but the world building is so bizarre and fun! Flying houses, witches, pirates, fake marriages etc) It was my non-Emily Wilde, lite fantasy pick of last year ❤

The Affordable Care Act isn’t so affordable for everyone. I pay over $ 700 a month and they pay very little for prescriptions. I worked in education for 27 years and I’m not old enough for Medicare. So here I am paying a fortune after working hard my whole life. My mother has never worked and played the system and she received great healthcare through Medicaid. It’s frustrating to say the least.
