i put off watching this video until i had the chance to read the tainted cup and i just finished it!!! (had to wait like 2 months for my library to get it to me). i //loved// the divine cities and foundryside trilogies and this one did not disappoint!!!! i loved the weird plant technology and the bureaucratic murder mystery so much. i really love how he writes characters and the worldbuilding is really some of the best i've ever read. so glad you're here reading and talking about his books and that you loved it because I feel like i don't hear about them anywhere else. thank you for the video and looking very much forward to the next books :)

Yay! The Tainted Cup was a 5 star read for me. I loved it! The world is so interesting and the characters so fun. The classic Nero Wolfe/Armchair Detective style but with that organic bio-punk/fantasy vibes. Can't wait for the next one!

Both the Divine Cities trilogy and Foundryside trilogy are chef's kiss level great for me and I'm constantly recommending RJB to likeminded fantasy readers. He's so underrated and I wish more people were aware of him. I am DYING to read this.
