You should have visited the Castillo during a canon-firing ceremony; multiple times per day and very impressive with reenactors in period Spanish garb. Mojo's Tacos for breakfast and, for a beach, I recommend Anestasia State Park, just south of the lighthouse, there's a small fee but it's protected.

For coconut shrimp, it's OC White's; for fish and chips I recommend Barley Republic. You should have sampled Hyppo (I love the blueberry & goat cheese popsicle) on St George Street. In Cresent Beach near Ft Matanzas, Commander's Shellfish Camp has some of the best NE clam chowder I've had. (they farm their own clams)

Narrow streets... I'm originally from Havana, Cuba.. Old Havana was built up before St Augustine, and it too has narrow streets.. Now, the narrow streets would not be about stopping pirates. Rather, since the Caribbean is such a hot place - even back then before man-made Climate change - the streets were made narrow to provide shade from the sun. It has nothing to do with stopping pirates, corsairs, or other interlopers, as even Havana was raided, sacked and burne in 1555. The narrow streets offered no valuable protection and St Augustine had yet to be founded.
