Nice to see foreigners enjoy the Swedish nature 👍. The usual tourists sites in Stockholm and what not is cool, but it’s out in nature that the real beauty is. I live in this area basically halfway between Huskvarna and Gränna, been to lake Tåkern many times. Omberg is really nice too. Btw as someone pointed out the ticks can be a bit of menace but for the dog you can buy an anti-tick collar at a drugstore. They're a bit expensive but quite effective.

I'm Swedish ! I have been to several "warm" countries but love the Swedish seasons (wouldn't want to live in heat all the time), You have been unlucky with the weather but it happens at certain times in the summer, other years it's the other way around, you know in Sweden they say "It's not the weather's fault, just the clothes", doesn't help when you only have those days as a tourist! But Nature is Wonderful in ALL Weather.

@@TravelTalesVlogsIt’s not unusual with temperatures around 30 with the occasional 35 degrees Celsius in the summer, but I prefer the 25-30 range. I rather have a little colder summer but greener, the hot with burned, yellow grass and leaves!

Lovely movie! Yes, I'm Swedish. Living in the southern part. Skåne. We don't have a mobile home, at the moment, but will buy one within a year or so. We have rented mobile homes and today we have a caravan. We are mostly travelling in France for more than ten years now, and last year, in Italy. We will, for sure, also travelling more in the Nordic area further on. (We are heading up to be retired). :) My point is: Lovely to hear your experience about touristing in Sweden! We would love to visit U.K. but hesitate because of your left side driving..... We will see if we dare, later on. Br, Johnny (&Ewa)

Fun fact about Visingsö. In the early 1800s the swedish marine started to get a shortage of oak wood to build ships. So in 1831 almost the whole island of Visingsö was planted with oak trees for the marine. 1975 the oaks were ready and offered to the Swedish Chief of Marine but he declined :-) But if you buy a bottle of the swedish whisky Mackmyra, you should try it it is good, it has beed aged in oak barrels made of oak from Visingsö.

The construction to help boats through different levels is called "Sluss" in Swedish and "Lock" in English. Kalles used to be called Kalles Kaviar, but the name had to be changed when we entered the EU due to rules, it didn't contain enough Roe. It goes very well with Egg. More often than not, stream water is perfectly fine to drink, often lake water as well. And of course, a nice alternative to a shower is a swim. Rule of thumb: Swim in shallow and small lakes, drink from large and deep ones.

I've been to all of your places from Jönköping to Tiveden. Not for camping but for the nature. I think you luckily managed to find ALL the best spots during your time on that side of lake Vättern! Sorry you didn't get to see the boats going down the waterstairs. It's a fantastic mindblowing event. Supercool! Soo happy for you that you managed to find Naturum at lake Tåkern. It's theeee best bird lake in Sweden..By far! I've managed to see over 130 spices of birds there (not in one day). The coolest one, Rördrom (in English, Reed Drum). Check out pictures of it extending the neck straight up. And it's very rare and hard to spot as well. Much love to you all 3! ❤❤❤

Every time since I was a kid, I start to look for Jätten Vist (The Giant Vist) as soon as I get to that road along Vättern. A statue of it is placed by Huskvarna. The Giant thought the lake was too large to step over, so he threw a boulder into the middle, creating the island Visingsö. It was always the absolute best thing on a road trip from Stockholm to the west coast. That was before the internet of course.

This is the correct way to discover Sweden! Nature, small roads, random renaissance castles. I live about an hour from Omberg, and have visited most of the places you showed. I think you did them justice. It is a bit funny that you found the forest scary. To me that kind of forest feels like home and safety. And you should have swam in the lake. If it is glazed it is normally powdered sugar with a few drops of water making up the glaze. ;) Happy to see you enjoying Swedish food items and much more. Göta Kanal actually run through Sweden from Stockholm on the east coast to Gothenburg on the west coast through all three largest lakes of Sweden. Max width of a boat passing is about 11 meters (which is information I got a few years back) but it cost a bundle to go through it all the way.

Cool, I am from the City of Jönköping, or just to the West of it towards Bankeryd in a place called Trånghalla. I have a house on the banks overlooking the lake, with a bridge, sauna etc down below at the water levels. I think you have caught some amazing pictures around the lake. In July 2021 I decided without any pre-planning that I should go around the lake and this 50% on foot. The lake is 300km around it so said and done the next day, 13 July 2021 I put on 18kg and started to walk. I booked along the road at some hostels in Hjo, Karlsborg, Tiveden, as well as some hotel and airbnb. I was back in my place on the South West edge of Lake Vättern on 24 July, 9 days later (had stayed 2 night in Hjo though) and by the I had done 171km by foot. The lake is big and beautiful! I am happy that you are enjoying Sweden. Please come back! Cheers!

Yes Sweden is very tourist friendly even though we might not be a huge tourist destination. When you were at Gränna you should have stoped at one of the candycain factories, its the origin of the candycain 🙂 See you turned south again, but if you ever end up a bit further north near a town called Eskilstuna you might want to take a break, the biggest motorhome/caravan dealership in the country is located next to that town. Besides a large store with a lot of gear you might want or need and of course you can buy LPG too. They also have free parking with acces to water and place to empty gray water and such. And for the fun of it you can of course peek at all the new motorhomes and dream a little 😊

Someone had scratched out the last N on that sign at the viewpoint at Gränna. So technically it didn't say "someone could get hurt" but "Anna could get hurt". Some top quality swedish humor there. 😁

With regards of the Swedish language, do a KZbin search on "Swedish" and "pitch accent" to get an explanation of the pronounciation. For me, you sound a bit more Norwegian. 😉

Someone have messed with that sign... Förbjudet att kasta föremål, fara för ANDRA! Anna is a common Swedish female name🤣 If you translate the English words. And i think that's a better way to say what they mean also in Swedish. Förbjudet att kasta saker, någon kan skada sig. And you can see that if you trow a stone there it can be bad!!!

The biggest store ICA is unfortunately pushing other brands away to sell their own garbage. So the customers choice is getting limited.

I see, we've been using ICA quite a lot as they seem to have everything and also tend to have bigger parking lots too !

It does not help that Coop a few years back almost halved their inventory either and got way more expensive. Hemköp and WIllys are still the best stores (imo) but they are not really in smaller towns.

Not bad, but Swedish has both long and short vowels. You are using only short vowels.

You really ought to stay in Sweden until fall. Then you would see more wildlife. The moose will mate, which means you would see some horny moose bulls searching for the cows. You would see bears hunting elks, deers and moose to fatten up before hibernation. Just stay (if your caravan can keep you warm) and wait and see. Great nature experiences compared to summertime. Love your channel btw❤️

No, om in Omberg has nothing to do with orm (snake). It's from the Old Norse ama meaning fog. So fog mountain. Omberg is also the home of the giant Queen Omma from many old stories.

Its not prawns, its shrimps! We eaven have a saying, "Glida på en räkmacka", = slide on a shrimp sandvich.. kinda getting without any effort! Shrimps are expensive, prawns are cheap.. only served at Asian or Medeterian resturantes! Next time at a local shop or caffe.. buy a "Räkmacka"!

That sign at the lookout point made no sense what so ever. Looks like it is missing a letter but i can not for the life of me get it to match anything that the translation say in English. Anna is a name and not a word. And no letter i can think of make Anna+letter a word. Your accent is closer to Norwegian than Swedish.

There Is absolutely nothing to be scared about sleeping out in the forests of Sweden. I have been sleeping in a sleepingbag in so many different places, with no tent, nothing. But sometimes it have been quite awkward when I havent gone so very far away front some hikingtrail to wake up to some tourists walking almost over me to be able to continue 🥹.. . But there Is nothing to be scared about, because the people out in the forests are just like you guys, normal non criminal people. Criminals afe in the cities, and they dont go out for a hikeä. Thats also why you can see that places dont get vandalised and people have this mindset in the Northern countries "You must always leave the place in as good condition as you found it"
