The food looked totally amazing that they served to the passengers on the train. It's too bad you couldn't have been on it from Edmonton all the way down to Vancouver, but the 48 hours on it, had to have been an amazing experience as you both described wonderfully. Marc's breakfast sounded super delicious, but then the rest of the meals of you both, had to have been equally yummy. Both the Silverleaf & the Goldleaf versions sounded to be lots of fun. The views you were able to see of the rocky mountains, the rivers & bridges, seeing all the views, while drinking your coffee, able to relax & just enjoy the trip sounds wonderful.
@EileenAldis Жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin! Rocky Mountaineer doesn't have a route (at least currently) that includes Edmonton but they do have other routes that look amazing, including the Banff to Vancouver route. There's also in the US that looks incredible! You're right that both GoldLeaf and SilverLeaf are spectacular and each has its own advantages for sure. The views are stunning and there's nothing like being on a train where you can just sit back and enjoy the view the entire journey :) Really glad you enjoyed this Rocky Mountaineer double feature!

@@EileenAldis somehow missed the first part. Will definitely give it a look. Our year got off to a slow start, but things are picking up. We took in some culture in Berlin at the end of June. In October, we’ll finally get to see Hamilton auf Deutsch in Hamburg, before it closes just a few days later. The German version apparently didn’t become the smash hit like the original. We’ll combine that trip with a visit to see friends and family up north. Our „big“ trip this year is an odd combination of Dublin, Amsterdam and Berlin in November. A friend recently moved to Dublin, and I got tickets to see They Might be Giants the day after his birthday. We’ll continue to Amsterdam, but staying in Haarlem with my brother in law. We will meet up with my sister with her family in Amsterdam and travel together to Berlin. We’ll connect the two cities by train and take a lunch break in Osnabrück. I’m about halfway through booking trains and flights.

Oh my goodness, thank you for this amazing video. I loved watching our upcoming trip through your enthusiasm. We are going in September and can’t wait. I’m assuming the train is heated so would you recommend layers for going outside? Also as my country doesn’t use the tipping system can you please confirm whether we need to pay tips on top of our prepaid gratuities? We’d hate to offend anyone.
@EileenAldis Жыл бұрын
Hello Debbie! Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I'm delighted you enjoyed our video and that's exciting you're going in September. Which route are you doing? I would definitely recommend dressing in layers to go between the indoor and outdoor areas. If you'd like to see day 1 of our journey, we made another video here: bit.ly/rockymountaineerday1 Re tipping, here's what the Rocky Mountaineer's website says: Onboard the train, you will be surrounded by a team of people dedicated to service excellence and their gratuities are included as part of the package price. In North America, gratuities are often given in recognition of service excellence. Depending on your rail route and package, gratuities may or may not be included for sightseeing tour and motorcoach drivers. Gratuities are entirely at your own discretion. For our Canadian rail routes, gratuities for sightseeing tour drivers are not included. We suggest a gratuity of $5 CAD per person, per day. For our US rail route, gratuities for sightseeing, flightseeing, and transfer tour operators are included in your package.
