Join me on one of the world's most luxurious and exciting train journeys. The Rocky Mountaineer train across the Canadian Rockies, from Banff to Vancouver. I'll show you exactly what it's like to travel on this private train, from the dining to where I sleep and even the outside viewing deck! It's a trip like none other, and is widely regarded as Canada's most luxurious train. I'm in what's called Gold Leaf today, but there is also Silver Leaf offered.
We'll start in the gorgeous town of Banff and you'll join me every step of the way, First Class, all the way to Vancouver. Now of course this experience doesn't come cheap, but i'll explain exactly how I booked, and how much I paid.

I took the Rocky Mountaineer on the reverse ride just two weeks ago and one of the things that was of great use to me is something that you did not mention at all - that is there is a lift in each car for those who have trouble navigating the narrow spiral staircase. The crew is always eager to help in this regard. So going to the dining car or to the washroom is no trouble at all. Th lift can even accommodate wheelchairs. Good job Rocky Mountaineer!

I have done this route countless times, although never on this expensive train, the scenery shown in this video is typical, and it is like that for the whole 1000 km. Canadians are always very well behaved and very civilized, you will never see bad or obscence behavior like I saw from river rafters shown in a YT travel video on the new route this company does in Colorado USA.

Try and say to yourself, a stranger is only a friend that you have not met yet. The atmosphere is more like being for there for each other and looking after one another. The kind staff will look after your every need, and dispel any fear. I have made friends from across the globe. You don't need to break the ice, they are friendly and chat to you. If you go, and you don't like it, say never again. But at least you will have tried it. How about go with a friend ? I genuinely wish you luck conquering your fear. It is not easy. My wife has been saying for years she wanted to take a train from Vancouver to Banff. We did it in a Gold Leaf car a month ago and it was fantastic. Being a photographer it was a target rich environment from the colorful graffiti in Vancouver thru the Canadian Rockies to Lake Louise. The food was incredible. My favorite drink was a hot chocolate with Baileys made to perfection. Be aware that there will be numerous stops due to opposing freight trains, especially the Kamloops to Banff portion. The staff was outstanding. The narrative during the trip with the historical points of interest and advisories of upcoming photo ops and going out on the open deck frequently kept us entertained. Meeting new people at breakfast and lunch was very enjoyable. We ate with people Great Britain, Australia and Taiwan. In the future we will definitely take another Rocky Mountaineer trip on a different breathtaking journey.

For a city of 1 Million, Calgary is exceptionally clean, safe, and modern, except for the homeless problem downtown, many who are from eastern Canada. In nearly all suburbs you can be perfectly safe walking down the street at midnight, and in some places during the day you can see the sharp wall of the Rockies on the western horizon.

Hi, we went on this train in June /22 and enjoyed it immensely. The magnificent scenery, comfort , exquisite food and friendly, accommodating staff and meeting of new friends have truly made this a memorable trip. A bit on the expensive side but something you should experience and add to your bucket list. My wife and I had taken a 13 day Alaska cruise and land tour before picking up the train in Vancouver. This train excursion didn’t end up in second place as the scenery and service blended seamlessly into the best vacation we have ever taken. This turned out to be the trip we had hoped for as our reservation had been cancelled upon the pandemic setting in, but we’ll worth the 2 year wait

Just returned from Australia, and the journey from Sydney to Perth on the Indian Pacific. Fabulous. The Gold Service cabin was comfortable and spacious. The Outback Explorers lounge was where we spent most of our time... a real treat to watch Australia pass by the windows. The young lady making the specialty coffee really knew her barista craft... The Adelaide Restaurant fare was pretty much over the top... pretty much the same quality as a top restaurant anywhere in the world... and the service... well it was just fabulous. We were one of two American couples on board, the rest were Aussies (Aussies are fun). Highly recommend.

Kind regards from London, England. A fellow traveller eh ? I've done every railway in Britain, Ireland, Portugal, Norway (except Narvik), all 5 railways in Alaska, most of Europe, some of America.

I've made this trip many times, but long ago when it was part of the CPR's regular passenger service. How times have changed! You had to take a return trip to see everything because it was non-stop and you slept on the train during the night portion of the trip. One time the train was stuck in the mountains all day while they cleared an avalanche from the tracks. I loved every minute of it. It was also a very cheap way to travel. The price of the new train was really shocking to me.

I have done every railway line in Canada (except Churchill). That includes 4 different Rocky Mountaineers (they do 5 different routes, the fifth goes to Seattle). Vancouver to Halifax, Prince Rupert, Calgary, Sarnia, Windsor, Niagara Falls, Toronto, Kitchener, Aldershot, Cochrane, Moosonee, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Sept Iles and Schefferville. Plus several heritage lines. I have also done all FIVE railways in Alaska. Any questions, just ask. Kind regards, from London, England.

@@garykee1 Sorry if this sounds melancholy; but I recommend you don't leave it till retirement beckons. Lots of people do. Sadly, not everyone gets there, or maintains the health and wealth to do it. If you think that Canadian rules are Draconian consider this: Canada recently passed 40,000 deaths from COVID. Scale that up to the U.S. population it would be 410,000 not the one million plus that they have actually had. Proud to be Draconian.

Extremely ignorant, particularly to specifically use such an over the top word as 'draconian' for safety measures, and more particularly with just how (deliberately and maliciously) badly the AB government has handled the whole damned issue in the first place and how many antivaxxers still abound. He ought to be grateful to any business actually *trying* to make up for a gov't that used a worldwide pandemic for its own gain, and *that* - not this video - is what would convince me it might be safe enough to take a trip with this company. I recently stumbled on this channel and had enjoyed several other videos but all I have to say is, if you don't like our country enough to respect our efforts to protect everyone, then feel free to stay home. We've got entire convoys of home grown assholes comparing wearing a simple mask to nazi germany and causing severe damages and loss to others, we don't need ignorant imports feeding the flames of stupidity.
