A family train trip is very nice. I would love to take a train ride with my family someday. There are some wonderful luxury trains in Japan, so please come and take a ride!

I've seen hundreds of videos about Rocky Mountaineer, even by some of the best KZbinrs and you made such a concise detailed vlog. Great work!

Very cool and detailed video! We went from Banff to Vancouver Gold Leaf in early August. We were lucky because some of the trips later in August were cancelled due to fires. I posted a video of our trip on my channel. We had a great time. …and I agree…the pancakes were meh…😊

Great video! So glad i found this! Went to their site a got overwhelmed by the packages. Do you mind sharing the package you booked and price for 3? I assume it's 2-day Vancouver to Banff? Is there an alternative other than booking from their website (i.e. going through a travel agent)? Thank you very much!!!
@WunChiou Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. It's definitely pricey. We booked the 2-day Vancouver to Banff for ~$2300 USD per person, so a total of ~$7000 USD for the three of us (excluding tax). This is also for the Gold Leaf service, which is the highest tier, and in the early summertime. I'm guessing the pricing varies by time of year, though, and certainly by tier. We didn't do any additional add-on tour options. I'm not sure if you can book through a travel agent; we booked directly from their website. If anyone is looking for a more affordable alternative, I'd recommend the Amtrak California Zephyr from Chicago to SF (or just Denver to SF if you want the scenic part). It's not as luxurious, but the scenery through the Rockies is just as beautiful.

@@WunChiou Thank you for the prompt response! I appreciate you share your package so I have an idea what it'd cost and what i'd be getting! I so appreciate it. Thank you! Looks like we'll have to book a night in Vancouver before hand then another night or two at Banff then fly home to the states. Thank you and look forward to seeing more videos... My dad's been talking about Rocky for past few years and now I think I can finally take him! Oh do you think I should book a few nights at Banff so he could experience Rocky a bit more? Did you just come straight home pretty much after the train ride? thanks again!

I also meant to ask how you arranged the hotel (recommendations) at Banff and transportation to hotel? Much appreciate it!
@WunChiou Жыл бұрын
After booking, when you get closer to your trip, Rocky Mountaineer will have you fill out a form to let them know which hotel you want to be picked up from in Vancouver and which hotel you want to be dropped off at in Banff. They provide a bus for both and it's really easy. We just booked our hotel in Banff separately from the train. For some hotels, the Rocky Mountaineer will also deliver your luggage directly to the hotel. For others, it will be on the shuttle bus. I'd definitely recommend spending a few days in Banff if you can. We visited Lake Louise, Lake Moraine, the Banff Gondola, and just enjoyed the quaint little town nestled in the mountains. To get back to the states, you have to drive about an hour east from Banff to Calgary, since there's no airport in Banff. You can either rent a car or book one of the shuttles (we used the Brewster Express).

I wanted to enjoy my family vacation time in Banff without worrying about filming, so I focused this video solely on the train ride. Banff is definitely a great place to visit, though; we enjoyed our time there.

Across Canada? Hardly.... it covers one province and touches one other.

Thanks for the comment. I didn't mean to imply "across [all of] Canada" when writing the title; in my head I meant more the action of passing through. Naming things is hard. I've updated the title for clarity.
