I just started watching your videos and subscribed. I absolutely love the tardis on there. I prefer crossbody straps since I walk with a cane, so the idea that you can easily swap out the handles is a fantastic idea. I may have to buy this pattern... I bought the Vivian and Denver instead. Ty for posting.

Lauren... Can you explain how you cut the bottom of your main and lining panels near the edges. Kind of like squaring the corners. Sorry of you mentioned it already. Thanks!

I'm a little late to this "party" but I am determined to be able to make this bag perfect. It is a perfect size for gifts. Not too big, not too small...So the pattern had V shape cut out and it made it harder for me to sew the bottom. I see yours did not have those. Also what length zipper did you use. The pattern said 12" It looked like yours maybe went longer than that. Thank you for the video and thank you for your time.

One more question Lauren. Is there an updated pattern for the Lola? The bottom of the front and back pattern pieces do not show the bottom cut on either side on the bottom. Should I be trimming the bottom of on either side where the bottom piece gets attached? I hope I explained this good enough.

Really cute bag with your changes. I made one and put the bands on the tops. I made the rest of the bag the way the pattern said to. I like how the straps look, but I don't think they will hold up as well as yours. I'm old enough to be your grandmother but I'm learning from you. Keep up the neat videos.

Hi Lauren, I know this tutorial is a tad old, but I have just downloaded the pattern 🤗. I like the fact you haven't included the zipper panel. My question to you is I heard you say you came down 2in to create your accent panel, could you tell me if you measures 2in feom the top down or extended 2in down from the sides and joined it up? Many thanks. Lucy x

Lauren I have a black too I call him Inky short for Black Ink. He is really sweet and 6years old. He is always with me. If I don't see him , I can look in another room like thru the door and he has peeking thru the sight line. so he can still see me. If you don't see your cat just stop and start looking for the sight lines. He never leaves me. You'll see.

I'm an absolute beginner. I want to learn how to sew so I can start my own fashion business. I want to start with making bags. Do you have any suggestions as to which sewing machine works best? The sewing machines that I've looked up had mostly good reviews but it was the negative reviews that made all of this overwhelming. If you can shine some light on this it would be much appreciated :)

Hi Lauren, I have a question for you I know you use the decovil light and heavy and also the woven fuse. I'm getting ready to make the Teddy Mommy & Me diaper backpack and it calls for SF101 and the Pellon 809 to be fused over the SF101 at times so, could you tell me the best way to use the decovil with quilting weight cotton? I've never used this before and everyone seems to really like it so thought I would try it on this bag. Do you usually lightly spray your decovil with water before pressing? The direction I read on Barb's FB site said to let it lay 30 minutes after pressing to fabric .to get a good bond so I'm going to try that, I'm also going to waterproof my fabric with Odicoat and not sure whether to coat it before or after fusing the interfacing on. If you or anyone has tried Odicoat and have any advice with the interfacing would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks so much Lauren
@LaurenMormino
@LaurenMormino 5 жыл бұрын
I haven’t used Odicoat but i think I’d do it after since I’m not sure how the heat will react! Woven fuse and then decovil should be perfect on your woven fabric! Good luck!!

I added 2 inches to the width of the bag, made the outer pocket a slip pocket with a magnetic snap closure, and will be adding the zipper pocket to the inside. The exterior is two colors of vinyl with a waterproof canvas interior. The handles are custom made paracord handles done by a very good friend of mine. I'll share photos to the facebook group when she's all done.
