@@LoganbuiltRaceShop That is friction welded caused by the lack of fluid film between two metal surfaces, cavitation is a phenomenon that is caused by high speed air bubbles creating tiny damages along the metals surface over a period of time. Friction weld can happen fast depending on how low the fluid is, IE very fast if there is none, but cavitation takes a very long time comparatively. EDIT: Also worth noting that cavitatin leaves surface looking like it has been powder blasted, which i cannot see from the given video. If it was indeed cavitation it would most likely still have fluid but a noticeable pressure drop as the sealing surfaces have been sanded essentially. The pressure delta between normal operation widening with rpm increase as the higher pressure makes the fluid backflow more.
