Nice to see larger capacity options coming out! Must be using a Pace BMS since everything looked like what I saw in the OrientPower battery? Definitely nice being able to change the protocol in the BMS for communication to the inverter. Should give a lot more flexibility especially when some inverters have fixed comms. Looking forward to the next video! I've gotta get me one of those lift tables!

I wished they all start using solid bus bars instead of wires. Would make for a much better routing and also better quality installation. After all the way they produce in mass that should be easy and cheaper than to produce the flimsy wires. I agree the balancer should not be activated permanently. I think the balancer is a vital tool that should ONLY be used for cell maintenance from time to time.... especially for systems that are close to the limits of solar capacity. It allows much faster balancing than the BMS and also allows balancing while batteries are not being charged. Maintenance schedules should be planed according to cell age and degradation

There are 500+ and 600+ Ah batteries coming out of China now. Good to see energy density slowly creeping up but we should be seeing systems in this size with double the KWh!

I’m really glad that more companies are putting active balancers in their batteries. This will greatly improve battery life because they will spend much less time at bulk voltages.

I think that is a yes and a no depending on how close the cells match. If they match pretty close then you can turn it off once balanced. If they always way outa wack🤪 then its very nice to use😆😆🤘

@@AveRage_Joe What’s really nice about having 4 amps of balance current is that you don’t need to fully charge all the time. You don’t need to worry about the balancer being inadequate to balance when you do get to absorb voltage. You can easily run a few weeks without a full cycle and not get into trouble.

I prefer my bus-bars to be curved in the middle for expansion and contraction. Now for those that have EG4 or sol-ark I wonder what setting they should be set at or if they would even work with those inverters.

Nice that it shows quality and attention to details, a negative on buying this is that I don't believe you can use it on income taxes for solar improvements if getting a refund is important to you. I believe it has to at least be built/made in the USA.

When they say that it is a rechargeable lithium ion battery that is an accurate statement. LiFePO4 is a Li-Ion battery technology as all currently used rechargeable lithium technologies are. When any battery says it is Li-Ion that doesn't tell you anything about the technology or chemistry short of it using intercalation lithium ion migration to store charge. So it could be any one of these chemistries LFP, NMC, LCO, NCA, LTO, and LMO.

Yeah they really are doing a great job with batteries these days. At least from the server rack style that I have seen lately. Would you believe me if I said its still been super hot so my AC runs A LOT and sun is lower in the sky so I cant fully charge the battery...yet. Either the leaves need to start falling off the trees or the temps need to come down a little🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️😆

The three types are all a measure of mass (weight) the short ton aka US ton is 2,000/lbs. The long ton aka Imperial (British) ton is 2240 lbs. The third ton is the metric tonne which is, equal to 1000 kilograms, or approximately 2204 pounds. ... COOP ....

Nice battery. I don’t agree with the bms leads turning and touching the metal corners on the upper raceways. There are simple plastic sleeves that could be placed on the metal edges to ensure no abrasion. Maybe not a big deal for a residential installation, but if in a mobile installation, i would be concerned about vibration over time.

Yeah I dont see why they wouldnt. I think in the EG4 Inverter manual they have a page for protocols. I know the regular lux inverter manuals do and would imagine they are about the same.

It all depends on what your usage is.

Your electric bill should tell you how many kwh you are billed for. Divide that by 30 and add like a 10% buffer for inverter losses, etc. Let's say the number you get is 30 kwh, you'd need approx four.

They use a neey 4a active balancer, which is fully configurable for amps, start voltage and stop voltage Own quite a few of the neey's have them build in my seplos batteries, and they work really well
