0:55 i did the math and based on that scoring rule its optimal to pick a 6.5 to 7 point underdog which has around a 1 in 4 chance of upsetting that gives you about 2.75 points on average If you pick a 0 pt underdog you get 1.5 points on average If you pick a 3 pt underdog you get 2.42 points on average 10: 2.57 14: 2.1

Just gonna throw another voice in that's in favor of Nick's rules, as a person who hosts a variety of leagues across a ton of different mediums from gaming to sports, people don't like having so much fine print but it helps incentivize proper play (like Brou not picking a bunch of 1 point favorites) and invests both viewers and "players" into the stakes of the competition. 1 point for a cover, 3 points + the spread for a win, elegant and easy.
