He's schemed open, or Purdy throws him open the majority of his catches last season. He's not worth more than St Brown money, he's not elite.

I really hope BA is smarter than that. If the Niners don’t think he’s worth 30 million and he sits out 10 weeks and then doesn’t produce those last 7 weeks because he hasn’t been there so it’s hard to just turn it on. What is that gonna do to his free agency? What if they franchise tag him the next season and the season after that? This guy hasn’t made any real money yet and you’re telling me he’s gonna sit out 10 games at a little less than 1 million a game? I hate these stories because regardless of an extension THE PLAYER IS GETTING PAID! He signed the contract to play all the years and now he doesn’t want to uphold his end of the deal and not play the final year because he doesn’t get an extension with bigger money. These divas are acting like they’re playing their final year for free while the team is just like hey, make good on your original contract. Go do the best you can and prove you’re worth staying on this team and if not then at least you auditioned for the other teams. You made a deal and now you’re withdrawing on that deal with a year left on a contract you were happy to sign. What if the team said “you know your final year you’re playing for free” the team can’t withdraw their agreement for the final year. And let’s be honest, Aiyuk hasn’t wanted to be here for awhile. Read/hear all his comments from the moment they lost the SB to now, it’s all been negative. His first comment after losing was he’s tired of being on a losing team. He’s part of that team. He’s wanted to go for awhile. Complete your agreed upon deal and move on with your life. If you’re worth top dollar prove it and someone will pay you. They have $32m in cap space right now. That rolls over into next season. Aiyuk's extension won't hit this year's cap at all. Add that to the fact tbe 49ers have been restructuring and staggering contracts for the Aiyuk and Purdy extensions. The cap increases by around 25m per year, they will be able to keep who they really need along with Aiyuk and Purdy. The 49ers will have the best roster in the league for at least 2 more years at least, but probably for around 4 more years.

Just run it back. Lose win or draw. Start the rebuild. I would rebuild around Purdy and Aiyuk. Hopefully Nugent will be the steal we think he is. Puni is the player we think he is. If so? Build Oline around Nugent and Puni. Rest of the offense around Purdy and Aiyuk. Hopefully run it back another year. Get #6. Then start the rebuild.

The players who hold out aren’t missing any money or anything they’re owed through their contract. I would also imagine there’s language within the contract stating they can release the player at their leisure.
