That was some really interesting analysis. The key theme seems to be the difference between a DC coming from outside vs. one who's been involved with the system and the players for years. Sorenson understands those nuances of what responsibilities work best for each player/position, and how to put them in the best positions to succeed.

Not gonna lie, I was nervous AF about this game. I thought Robert Saleh would have a better game plan going against an offense he should know inside and out. I was in the same boat... I got the feeling it was more a matter of better execution by better talent. The schemes are there under Saleh, but he's not working with defensive staff like ours. ... and our offense is one which doesn't "need" an Aaron Rogers.

Thanks Jonny. SUPERB explanations as usual. Puni is playing incredibly well, and he makes the line and team significantly better. I almost can't believe how polished Puni is. Very much a student of line play and executes REALLY well. Talented, skilled, smart, studious. Sorensen called a great game, and so did Kyle. Great to see us get back to great fundamentals on defense. Wilks defense could work in general, but didn't fit our personnel well. I also noticed Hargrave great against the run and really good play by Collins. Hargrave significantly improved this year. Kyle knew Robert's defense nearly perfectly. Matchups with other teams' defenses won't be as easy. 22:41 Purdy had the MLB on a joystick.

Poor McKivitz, having to play a tough position, and also having the best OT to ever do it opposite him as a comparison. Good to see him making some plays, and working well w/ Puni and the TEs. Had some pretty awesome run blocks, and held up pretty well in pass pro as well. On the play at 11:26, he and Kittle are able to give just enough of a shove to the stunting DE to get his inside inertia a bit out of control. McKivitiz knows what's coming back his way, keeps his feet patient, and is able to pick up Williams. And Puni is able to finish things off with the sick sandwich block. Love to see it.

JFA, thank you for explaining all the details that a casual football fan might miss (e.g. Puni blocking two D-linemen to give QB time to make the pass!) You brilliantly pointed out Purdy's wicked "blading" his shoulder and body to the left to deceive the defender then make the completion to the right! “All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.” ― Sun tzu, The Art of War

@@jonnydel that would be great but don’t worry if it’s inconvenient. I still enjoy the content either way and most people probably don’t notice the music as much. Thx!

I knew it sounded weird, lol. At one point I typed Greg Burks and knew that was wrong, lol. My mind must've triggered to basketball with Greg Odom

This exact copy, there is no link. However, NFL gamepass has a 30FPS version through them and they've really upped the interface this year.

Collins pick should've been a defensive TD. I don't think he was touched down by contact.
