This is what happens when OL is an afterthought for years. Purdy was under pressure all day, and the game ending INT was because of poor blocking. Defense can't stop the run, and now Moody is injured. This could turn into a 9-8 season at this rate.

Call it a blown game but when it comes down to it the Niners are not that good. Hey it was 97 degrees for the Cardinals as well! Red zone is a critical issue now. Another loss that the Niners should have won. I keep hearing “it’s early in the season,” well you don’t win a season early, but you can sure start losing it quickly. Niners will not make home field advantage in the plays offs should they make it.

Serious red flags with this defense. The scheme isn't the main problem, although, there are questions with that. It seems that after losing a few good players each year over the past few years, they just don't have that many good players or difference makers on defense. You have Fred Warner and sometimes Bosa. Mistakes in coverage and missed tackles a' plenty out there with everyone else. Kyle is having his own issues with his play calling and game plan it seems, as well. Deebo Samuel can't be getting just one catch and you can't settle for field goals all the time either. But that defense seems to be a real problem, it was there last year as well. They can't get off the field when they need to.

24:05 they're not making adjustments, on either side of the ball. Last season they would play well which to stay in the game in the first half, and then go into the locker room at half time and make adjustments, and then come out and dominate teams in the second half. I'm not seeing adjustments during the game or in between halves from either side of the ball

The 49ers offense is off...WAY OFF! And it all starts with the centers snap (while in the shotgun) to Brock Purdy. Watch some film of how slooooow the ball is going from the time it is snapped, to the time it (finally) reaches Brock Purdy's hands. It is the slowest snap from center to QB that I've ever seen...including most high school snaps from center to QB while in the shotgun. This has to be a Kyle directive. Did he witness one too many errant snaps at practice, so he just decided to go from a 10/10 speed, to a 2/10 speed?? The slow snaps from center, makes the entire play seem slow from the start. It's not normal.

I know that as far as the 49ers go they like to cross train their players at multiple positions, can you inquire as to whether they cross train their kicker and punter and if not, why not? Why can’t the punter kick in an emergency and why can’t the kicker punt in an emergency? Seems logical to cross train them since they both kick the football. I know there’s more to it then just simply kicking it but seems to me like the kicker/punter would have ample time and opportunity to cross train punting and kicking

Do you think Shanahan's play calling in the red zone has regressed? Watching 49ers' red zone breakdowns on O'Sullivan's QB School, Greg Papa on Knbr, Lombardi's, and others, Shanahan's play calling seems to rely on having one primary as the go-to option and the other players running interference and not being viable targets. For instance, last week, there was a play where Jennings ran a go route three yards from the end zone. Purdy tried to get it to him, but it didn't work out. The odd thing was that the three other routes receivers ran, bumping the CBs and turning around, not even moving into the end zone for the catch. There are similar play calls where there is only truly one target to throw to, and I'm curious if that's been Shanahan's M.O. or if this is something new. Additionally, more deep throws have been available, with defenses disguising more this year and making short and intermediate throws more complicated. Do these modified, more congested defensive orientations cause more difficulties in the red zone where the field is compressed? Are these more exotic defensive looks the Niners face throwing off Shanahan and Brock? Could it be that Shanahan's system is going through growing pains as it evolves due to work around teams having found a blueprint? I'm sure part of the problem is teams drafting players to combat Shanahan's system over the past decade and so many of his coaching disciples running variants of his offense for other teams that defenses have a plethora of opportunities to face Shanahan derivative offenses, and it's being picked apart more rigorously due to that frequency.

somehow every game this season feels like we fix one thing and break another. Now Aiyuk plays good, redzone offense sucks. Purdy needs to make better decisions. Sorry, I get his stats are good, but clutch plays in crunch time have been a problem in their losses. Missing open receivers, yes I know there have been many drops, but I think Brady is right in that he's running around too much. If there's nothing there, throw the ball away or run out of bounds and live to fight another down. Also remember that while he's running around and then getting sacked for 9 yards when you couldn't afford to lose any yards without a viable K, on a 98F day, your 300lb Oline is getting gassed trying to protect you. He has to play smarter if they are going to weather the D hopefully coming around at some point and the rest of the guys getting healthy. I feel like he's trying to play hero ball and starting to get the same results as Josh Allen and all the other "talented" QBs that can't jus take what the D gives them. I get it, it's not his fault balls are being dropped, fumbles are happening and the special teams and D continues to implode, BUT, when you touch the ball as much as he does, you have the power to be a force to win ugly games. Before today, he simply hasn't been making those crucial plays to scathe out of these ugly games and today he decidedly contributed to the loss. Take the outlet pass, take what the D gives you, throw the effin ball away. Nobody here cares about any other stats than Ws and rings here. At least that's all I care about. Example, Montana never had Peyton like stats, but he came through in the clutch and contributed to the W. NFC Champs game example, I think he threw 3 INTs and fumbled the ball away that game, but he made the throw for The Catch. Oh and the D held Dallas, but either way, Montana did what needed to be done when the team needed it most. If this team has any chance, he has to be more clutch. I didn't say better, because clearly he's had good games, but when the rest of the team isn't carrying water, he's leaving plays on teh field that need to be made by the franchise QB. David you say Sorenson is "growing' on the job. Is he? I'm not sure we've seen improvements so far. I get it, they're missing Greenlaw, that's huge and they either have injured Warner, I'm not sure what to think of Campbell and young LBs that I'm guessing are prone to make mistakes, but where's the learning curve? Not seeing it yet.

What happened to the 49ers asking the league not to schedule home games in late September or early October. Guess that didn't work out, here is an idea maybe they should have thought about the heat in Santa Clara when they built the darn thing. Should have gone with a Euro type design or something like the Rams did. 49ers blew it. I guess they didn't look at the Rangers and their heat issues.
