@messer0744 Not much, about 80 hp to the wheels. But with some nice mods, weber, and headwork it can be very torquey. All that paired with a higher differential and it will give some headache to some twin cam engines ;)

Me puedes indicar dónde va la manguita de la ignición,(la del diafragma) si va en la araña del carburador o en el carburador y dónde específicamente.

I have the same engine and I just replace the stock carb with a weber 32/36 carb but is not running right. what do you suggest that I can do if only one of the barrels open?
@elcano96 жыл бұрын
Rafael Almeida it should run well if the carb is setup right and isn’t in need of a rebuild. The factory jets on the 32/36 run well, maybe a little bit on the rich side, but should work ok. Check whenever your jets have been swaped.

Will removing these vacuums stop the air conditioning from working?
@elcano914 жыл бұрын
@203809ct when you remove the entire vac system the charcoal canister becomes useless so you can remove it as well, just leave the line that comes from the tank open or the gas tank will become pressurized and push fuel out of the pump.

A/C will work as long as it keeps an idle above 800 RPM with the compressor on.
@ahdasick5 жыл бұрын
Hey old video I hope you see this! So you're distributor vaccum has 3 ports correct? I have a 87 Rolla 4alc and mine has 3 ports. I currently run the top left port to the base of carb. Is this not correct? I've been driving it like this for a few weeks. Mileage is not bad for an old car.
@elcano95 жыл бұрын
If that's a vacuum source at the base of the carb, then it should be fine, maybe a bit over advanced. Those lines at the ignition all they do is advance the ignition a bit when vacuum is applied. There are ports in the carb that show a nice vacuum only at idle or when decelerating with the carb throttle plates closed.
@ahdasick5 жыл бұрын
elcano9 I noticed it felt a bit too over advance like you said so I went back to the intake manifold port. Does your distributor vacuum have 3 ports? Or 2? And which one do you use?
@elcano95 жыл бұрын
@@ahdasick If you notice it is a bit too advanced, just take the ignition timing down a notch. I don't recall if mine had 2 o 3 but I think all of them give out the same result. If the chamber is the same between the 3, then they should all do the same timing effect. Easiest way to know is if you need to cap the other 2 because vacuum escapes from them if they are left open. If not, then they have different timing advances. Btw, I sold this car many years ago for $2,500. They are now very sought after. I regret it, wish I still had it hehe.

Joshua Mueller I know its a little late for repliying almost a year after... But that is called the heater plate. It basically heats the base of the carb on winter to keep it from frosting. Not necessary if it doesn’t get cold where you live. You can get around to eliminating it, but if I remember well, some linkage stuff on the carb will touch the intake manifold and get stuck. Cheers
@elcano912 жыл бұрын
same one. you have to modify it tho... you have to eliminate everything and leave the 2 magnetic trigger cables for the msd trigger...

A/C keeps working as long as it makes a good idle. It could add power and fuel economy since all these emission lines are more that 20 yrs old and make the carburetor work like crap. This is not a task for the mechanically challenged tho...

Nice video, emissions stuff is a joke from the 80's, removing it is just better. As for the charcoal can, try to keep it as gas vapor is most dangerous and this can helps contain it when parked. The rest can go and carbs rule when there aren't 1000 vacuum lines.

I tried this and I pretty much have given up. I think I accidently ripped off some gas lines. I think I'll just junk the car.
@elcano95 жыл бұрын
Junking it? That’s is a little extreme isn’t it? Lol. There is only ONE fuel line in all of this and it comes directly from the fuel pump on the side of the cylinder head. And its just a common rubber-like hose found at any autoparts store. What’s the problem you are facing?

I tried starting the car and it will only run if I keep pressing the gas pedal. If I just let it idle it dies and I think gas is coming from the tailpipe. Some black stuff comes out from it.

So I managed to get the car running more or less it was the vaccume advance. It wasn't connected to the distributor.
@danielgarcia92435 жыл бұрын
But the car keeps dying. It shuts off after a minute of running. If I push the gas it keeps the car from shutting down, when it is parked, but when I tried to drive it and pushed on the gas the car died. What do you think it might be?
