The only way to check for tdc is by using the marks seen on the gears behind the timing cover ?

Or the front crank pulley to timing cover

On this video he is lining the two dots up but on my CAS the dot is on the gear tooth and a line on the body, if I line these two points up an turn it before the tooth, as I stab in the CAS both marks line up inside the cam is that right?

Hi matey, wondering if you can help me I'm super stressed, I replaced my radiator because it was leaking and whilst there I removed my CAS to replace the seals, refitted everything and bled the system of air. When I start it I have to hold the throttle or it will stall everytime, I put engine to TDC, line up the dot on the cas with the indent and stabbed in the cas, no matter which way I adjust it, it will not idle. I'm wondering if there's anything else I should check?. If I hold the throttle it will run somewhat but backfires. Do you know the tolerance levels for the pickups inside the CAS I set them as small as possible, is there anything else I should of done inside the CAS when I put it back together like should certain pickups match each other like pickup 1 on the right with the lower pick up at the same time I'm really struggling to make it out, any help be much appreciated, thanks Louis
