thanks for the video! another idle issue on the 4age could be the coolant temp sender, causes floating idle and hesitation on throttle.

I had multiple issues going on at the same time but I remember it floating at idle/stops after driving for awhile. If temp signal sender is bad it likely doesn't allow for the needed correction(?), even at temp but idk.

Iv been having this really loud noise coming from my exhaust pipe, and my next door neighbor who's a trained professional mechanic said its the muffler bearing and that he could repair it for $870, do you know of a cheaper remedy that could temporarily fix this issue as i don't have $870 to spend at the moment and the noise is really annoying. 10 degrees in diagnostics mode and when u take it out of diagnostics mode it should goto 16 degrees before top dead center

Hey what about state side ae86? I don't have a MAP, I have AFM how do I check for stuck iacv? The car has to have the AFM connected to the TB to start and run.

MobiusPhantom7 Hello! I am sorry, no AFM-equipped cars were sold in Portugal... we have some Swiss-imported AE86, but I dont have access to one, so I cannot show you how to do what u ask. Try looking on aeu86.org or club4ag.com... the gurus there will certainly help you! Cheers!

I have a 16v 4age engine redtop but does not have an idle problem when the engine is cold or even hot (optimum). however when the air condition is Switched on, the idle drops to About 5/600 rpm. Today I blocked with my finger the small hole in the throttle body and the engine idle drops and even shut off the engine. Does this mean the iac valve needs cleaning so that the ac will work better or idle up the engine when switched on?? Great video btw.

I heard that if you set the CO mixture to lean, the engine will suffer, that is why Toyota (by default) they put the CO mixture a bit rich, is that right? Thanks mate! Good job!

Hi Joao this has been helpful I managed to reconditioned 4age DISTRIBUTOR, BUT AM HAVING PROBLEM MY 4AGE S3 WHEN ITS BEEN DRIVEN 30TO 40 KMS ONCE I SWITCHED OFF DOES NOT START FOR 5 T0 10MNS.HOWEVER WHEN PLUG THE JUMP BATTERY WILL START. The problem that i've got when the car is cold the idle is okay but if the engine is getting hot the idling is lower than 1000rpm and sometime when i stop at the robots the engine switch off then have to start it again.
