This is the exact kind of video I've been looking for to explain it clearly to my son playing his first year in 8U. All his teammates, save two, have played for 3yrs and understand the game very well already. This will help him catch up pretty quick.

Only thing i would suggest is to have your cut off turn their body for a quicker release your cutoff player are fielding the ball then turning to make throw.

You would rather have the RF make the longer throw as he has his momentum moving towards 3rd Base already...With the 2nd baseman cutting there would be a large gap between the cutoff man and third base. Meanwhile, if you have the SS be the cutoff, the RF can make that throw and there isn't as much of a gap between the cutoff and 3rd Base.

7:25 a ball hit to right and we're cutting 3 our team has the second baseman cut off and throw to 3

Why wouldn't you have 2nd take the cut and SS cover the bag on a hit to Right with a runner on first?

bc this is the way to do with on a bigger field when players can reach the SS no problem.. It would be hard for the 2B to sink into the field especially if he almost made the play in the 4 hole. Also the SS can see the field better, he usually has a better arm the the 2B and is a better player

You do have the second baseman as the relay man if its a double off the wall though correct?

Be Limitless I know this is old but if anyone is wondering, Yes! Ball hit to right center wall with at least a runner on first, you will tandum relay to home. 2nd leads out with short about 10ft behind him to receive any bad throws. 1st covers 2nd. 3rd is on 3rd. Pitcher back up home. You can cut to 2 or 3 on this relay but main goal is to get runner from first out at home.

The coach in the video says that the video covers cutoffs with no one on, a man on first, and runners on first and second, but the video doesn't show runners at first and second. Do you have another video that covers cutoffs with runners at first and second?

Because you would automatically throw home. Runners on first and second is the same situation as if a runner is just on second. You will be shooting home.

Because he’s the catcher 🤦‍♂️ he has a base it’s youth baseball you’re not gonna see a catcher backing up 3rd base or anything like that
