I always enjoy the Macon videos. Your next tour of duty should be a week long hiatus at Tillman and Inman. I love yard action plus the switching.

It’s nice to see CSX and NS railroad videos......I just relocated from So. Cal and we only had UP there!
@mbmars014 жыл бұрын
Lol, I know. It's always nice to see something different. The funny thing is that last year I extra traveled to SoCal to watch UP and BNSF :)

mbmars01 I live within 45 minutes of every Class I Railroad except KCS. Can you guess where I am?
@irish000118 жыл бұрын
Over the time I have been observing your videos, you seem to always find a moment to swoop in with your zoom, and perform your own inspection of the rails, ties, and rail bed. In this video, your onscreen text message, is pretty specific. And, you are absolutely accurate with your observation. Do you ever contact the railroad with your findings? It seems to me, that the roadbed's lack of proper condition, could be a real safety hazard to everyone concerned. Yes, I'm aware, the defect detector, only checks the cars as they pass over the loop, but there doesn't seem to be anything but a visual or rolling machine for producing an accurate inspection of the rail-bed. As the saying goes, once the wheels come off, the derailment has already occurred. Also, there is the possibility of loss of life of railway employees and other area residents and or passerby's.
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
I haven't contacted anyone; I wouldn't even know who to address the issues to. Furthermore, the railroads have their track inspectors out there almost every day and, overall, we have to leave it to their judgment what they still consider a safe condition and what not. I absolutely agree with what you say and that's why I document it as I see it. I'm sure there are railroad employees who watch these videos and they should know better who is responsible in their companies for keeping the track maintained.

Are the NS C44-9W units more common on the Norfolk Southern railway?
@mbmars01 Жыл бұрын
They were very common on NS. Many are currently rebuilt into the AC44C6M type with AC instead of DC traction.

You ever plan on making a trip to the Norfolk Southern Brunswick District anytime.
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
+FUEL__83_Jr _ I probably wouldn't just go there for this district because it's not overly busy and I live too far away from it anyway. However, should I be in the area I would certainly like to explore it.

awesome video im a fan of NS great catches mbmars01 is the line busy everyday
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Macon is busy, but not all of the lines that lead to town. I'd say, the busiest north of Brosnan Yard is the Atlanta South District (Macon-Atlanta) and in the south the Macon District (Macon-Valdosta).

@morgangrey40207 жыл бұрын
1 time there was a problem right after the flood of 94 here and they had to divert 2 coal trains,they ended up making them into 1(both going to the same plant)..had 12 engines 4 infront 4 midway and 4 in the end......thing was almost thru warner robins and the tail was still in macon.....think longest train ever in this area roughly 2 and half miles long .talk about a looooong wait at the crossings.

THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO. I LISTEN TO PARTS OF THIS WITH MY BOSE HEAD PHONES. Funny I was able to hear some chickens making some noise when the first rock train went by. I could hear the sounds of the engines really popped it was like being there. Thanks again for your work I appreciate it very much. If you ever decide to ask for donations I will do my best to contribute.

That's awesome that you can really make the best of the sound. It's worth it! I know, the animals contribute their own voice at times, which is quite funny. Thank you for your continued interest. I greatly appreciate your offer, but haven't yet really thought about fan funding.
