Great instructional, I was considering sorting this out myself, but I ended up just using the arp bolts. 400+hp! That's just insane!
@Camp_Dogs4 жыл бұрын
This actual engine is at 385 HP on 28 psi. We will go to 30 which will break that 400 barrier. Engine is still going strong too 😁😁

Hey Matt! Awesome vid mate you really help us Starlet lads out with what you do. Just a question about the head studs, is there much need for a re-bore after fitting these ARP studs due to the extra clamping force? Or is it ok to just send it as is. Cheers mate!!
@Camp_Dogs3 жыл бұрын
ive recently heard about this on other engines but had done it too many times before on these engines without a problem so i just send it still without worrying.

Hey Matt, I’ve got a bit of a strange one for you.. can’t seem to find a solid answer online. Is There Much difference between fte and 4efe piston rings?
@Camp_Dogs2 жыл бұрын
I’ve never seen a stock turbo set of rings. Either way I’ve boosted plenty of na engines and the only time I’ve damaged rings is from a poor tune.

Is this video still relevant to the stud kits sold for the 4efte. I know that the block will need drilling ect but are all the other mods nessesery thanks.
@Camp_Dogs2 жыл бұрын
There are no stud kits available for the 4efte. ARP only offer head bolts which are a bolt in set. No mods required. Problem is they still dont hold the head down hard enough in my opinion, i still have problems with head lifting

How much power can ARP 4fte bolt handle? At what power should I switch to 4age engine studs?

He literally answered this question in the video bro. Anything over 250 bhp he recommends the head studs.

Hey Matt, have you ever mixed up the shims in a rebuild? That would make a good video sorting them out.
@Camp_Dogs4 жыл бұрын
Hey I definitely have. Had to work out how to measure them and put them back in 😂😂. Good idea though! I've filmed a lot lately but I'll get around to doing that.

Did the headgasket fits with the 10mm head studs? Or must drill it also?
@Camp_Dogs3 жыл бұрын
Mls gaskets are a direct fit, no drilling. Stock gasket, i am not sure
@Silversups883 жыл бұрын
@@Camp_Dogs what mls gasket should i use? My athena with the arp bolts blows up between cyl2 and cyl3
@Camp_Dogs3 жыл бұрын
@@Silversups88 sounds like your engine has detonation issues. Cylinder 2 and 3 also run hotter than the other two. Small turbo with big boost can blow the gasket easily, or poor fuel or a combination of both. Ive always used cometic head gaskets and have blown those thw same way as you did until I figured out what was going on.

Very great instruction of video. My car is 4AFE engine, I was checked on the www.onlinecarparts.co.uk the 4AGE and 4AFE engine the Thread size is M10 and Thread pitch is 1.25 (same Thread size). So I think ARP 4AGE Head Studs 203-4203 should be able to install it, maybe need some modifications for length. @Matt Berry, what is your opinion?
@Camp_Dogs4 жыл бұрын
The thread pitch will be the same, I am unsure on the bolt length though. If you can find the measurement for a stock bolt I can tell you how long the studs are :)
@lesliechong59914 жыл бұрын
4AFE and 4AGE bolts are M10x1.25 90x5 + 108x5.
