This came up on the album and I was crying by the end of it. You have a good habit of doing that. I never started a cult and tried to take over the world (well, not personally), but the lyrics are painfully, wonderfully relatable. The pain and the healing in the lyrics, the admittance that we're forever changed by the paths we went down and overly critical of ourselves... and the musings that in a lot of simple ways we *are* the same person we were before we made those terrible mistakes. And just the overall upbeat but thoughtful tone of it all. Thank you. I needed this.

I love Glimmy. Starlight Glimmer is my favorite because of her visible growth and struggle with who she used to be. Even when you think she's put it in the past, you can see that it's not quite gone. She still pushes on, and becomes a strong character who you know has worked to be where she is when the show ends. Thank you for this song ;3

This is a grand song. When I first joined the pony parade in high school I was, to put a fine point on it, an ass. Honestly, I've been listening to this song for a while now, and I gotta say, even if it's not exactly my favourite it is one of the best ones I've heard. It's just that this song hits me on emotional level so hard. In a good way of course. Every time I hear it a reflection comes to my mind. And every word of this song is so... it's just somewhat relatable. It's gonna be a long breakdown of every verse heh Verse one: "My eyes are sparkling with wonder The world is bright and full of life" It reminds me that there is so much beauty in this world, curiosities I want to discover, so much to see, so much to know, so much to learn, despite all the corruption, all the destruction, all the horrible things that look out for us to make life look and feel miserable. "My friend is moving on The only one I had is gone" This reminds that nothing is eternal. People change, friendships come and go, and that's ok. I am lonely right now, so what? Maybe it's time for reflection to see how much others are important to me, how much I need and want their company, and how much more you can see when there is noone to help you open your eyes, how much you can realise. Everything can be an opportunity do discover something new, to expirience something amazing, even lifechanging, just to be a better person. "So, I'll just fly my kite" And despite all the pain, loneliness, I can still do my thing, I can last through everything, I can be undefeatable. All I need to do is to go on. Don't give up, take a while to rest and show yourself how strong you are. Verse two: "My sight is blinded by illusions I'm doing what I feel is right If I could have my way We'd look and act and think the same" Everyone can be telling you "give up" "it's not going to work" "you are a failure" "its impossible" but if you just try hard enough everything is possible. It's just that sometimes it takes time, but don't let those illusions blind you to the possibility of success. Just do what feels right. Push through and show them how wrong they were, how strong and determined you can be, you are. "But I'd still fly my kite" Despite everything just don't lot others get into your mind, do your thing. Verse three: "My mind is clouded up with hatred I won't go down without a fight" This. These words always make me realise how "sad" person I am. How much negativity is my life, how much hate. Someties I wish for it all to just go away with me, that it would be easier that way. But then I say NO. I won't go down without a fight. It's a simple concept, quite simple words, but in this song, they have so much power for me. I will figt for myself, for my future, for my happiness, because even if I don't see it, there is always a possibility for a good ending. And waht a great story it will be one day, how proud I will be of myself, when I finally win the final battle. "My history's a dump Wish that I could change it up" My history is a dump. I made so many mistakes, I have so many regrets, I never really achived anything good, or rather good enough. And yes, there is so much I would love to change, to make everything better, to be a better person from the start. "But I'd still fly my kite" Yet things happen. I learn on my mistakes and just go on, don't reapeat them. I do my thing, I fly my kite. Verse four: "My heart is burdened with confusion I thought I knew my destiny" From time to time a doubt comes to my mind. Everything, my whole life feels like a huge mistake, like I don't belong to this world, to this body, like it's not my story. Confusion. One second something feels right, and then suddenly you have this terrible doubt. "My life is made of flaws" It's just true. But is it really a bad thing? Is it beeing perfect and good so great or is the way to achieving that. Maybe both? Maybe it's just important to remind yourself that you are not perfect, and mistakes are normal, are part of life. Everyone makes them. No exceptions. "And yet you overlook them all" ... But why? It's true, can't argue with that, but... Just why? This one you have to find answer by your own as I don't understand it. I am just happy it's true. I am just happy others can see so much good in YOU when you see none of it. "So, won't you fly with me Come fly your kite with me" I take these last words as invitation. Invitation to take a break. Stop for a while, take a deep breath of fresh air. Stop and smell the roses heh. And this is an invitation for me, for you reading this. Do your thing, go on, don't let others tell you that you can't. And when you need a break just take one. I know life is not as simple as that. But is it really that complicated? Or are we just exaggerating everything? Fly your ktie, and don't anyone or anything stop you. Now that I look back on things I find it really odd that I didn't like Starlight back when she was recently reformed...
