They shipped the cars all the way from Australia to compete in the Sport Compact World Challenge held at Orlando Speed World in Orlando, FL. @@TangoOne whats even more. Unlile the Tekno Toyz S15 which still uses the oem cast head Jett Racing uses a complete billet block and head. Excatly how much of that is 4g63 is debatable. Also. As I said before Jett Racing need 112 psi of boost. Tekno Toyz uses 85 psi with one turbo unlike the bi-turbo used by Jett Racing. Somehow when the 2 cars line up together the SR20 is quicker and faster when they run on the se track,at the same time,under the same conditions. Now. Let that sink in.

I had a John Deere 4630 pulling tractor back in the 1980s with a compound turbo setup. 150psi. (but that was a diesel. apples to oranges)

4G64 was made in the 80's and ran for over 20 years. Of course minor changes were made to components, tuning, and fuel systems but its a tried and true motor that should be up there with the best. Of course most dont have full billet blocks running 112psi but plenty of people are running big power from these motors with a budget and are overlooked by the Honda and Toyota motors.

Everything points to honda engines having the most capability so i wonder why they fall short sometimes with hp records and 1/4 times. Is there an issue with the design when going that far? bc stock for stock unopened k series and s2k engines have made 700whp bone stock. i guess the only thing that matters is how much boost you can slam in with out it exploding.

Nope, there is a reason it's all separated into categories. Bigger engines are faster with the same time/money into them. You can cheat displacement some with higher pressures, as it is in essence increasing displacement, but the higher power you go the harder it is.

Man, things have come a LONG way in this sport in the last 35 years. They are doing, in cars like this, what AA fuelers (rails) did then.....amazing....and on 2 LITERS, not 7 & change. 112 PSI boost..some 10 runs in series..that takes some seriously well designed internals. ;-) My guess is the new hydraulic/pneumatic/electric or whatever and whatever valve trains will be their next push. I wonder when electrics will be trouncing these things? I predict within the next 5-7 years, but we'll see. IMPRESSIVE!!!

In the 90s a fellow in the shop I worked had a V8 Pinto he was running at a local strip and I hadn’t been to a drag strip for quite a time and I asked him just what they were running those days. Don't worry about psi, so long as the engine receives the pounds of air required the pressure of it is irrelevant. Banks performance has a good video explaining it.

@@mryang3644 all boost is, is air backed up into the intake manifold. sure its making 100+ lbs of boost but i doubt it uses all of it. there are V8 blocks making around 70 lbs of boost running 220mph plus in the 8th mile. theyre most likely using all of that air being that big block v8s flow air better. its not about how much boost you make, its about how you use it.
