A choppy big block V8 or a roaring small block, a flat plane low displacement V8 screaming its head off with high pitched whines and deeper growling tones, twin turbo V6 motors that are smooth enough drive everywhere but churn out 1k hp, straight 6 engines that make ears bleed, boxer engines that have that off beat exhaust pulse that sounds like 2 engines at once an 4cyl engines on so much boost that you basically hear all turbo until it's about to redline and you hear the monster wailing. We are real car guys and car guys love good cars with bad engines and bad cars with good engines. That's in our blood.

@@jonathanswinford88, well, he cranked the boost up because he figured go big or go home. A longer burnout is only going to do so much. As of right now, I think a clutch would be the best thing for that car. A lot of the consistent stick cars are using slip style clutches. Cleetus is not, and I think that's part of the reason why they have so much trouble getting off the line efficiently and most importantly, consistently. He even mentions it in one of his FL2K videos.

Minion runs the 281 4.6, and Grub Worm runs a gen 1 LT1 (IMO the biggest surprise of the event going from passes right in the 7.95 - 8.1 range to a 7.54 @ 190 on an LT1). Red Demon is the product of a decade of racing, R&D, endless broken parts, consistent improvements, great driving, and reminded everyone who the stickshift GOAT is. I love when people start coming up with excuses about being a billet block. Just to let people know he ran 7.37 with an oem block. People think v8 guys are running oem blocks? they are running non oem blocks and non oem heads by the way. A 6 bolt lsx block and 6 bolt heads are not oem. Those are aftermarket castings. boost is the replacement. Every 14 lbs effectively doubles the displacement In theory. there is some diminishing returns though.

I always loves these old DSM cars. Growing up as a kid there was 3 cars my dad had that were my favorite, his old Talon, MK3 Supra and 92 5.0 Mustange. The Talon stands out the most to me because my Dad used to always race with me in the passenger side in that car. He eventually wrecked it n got the 5.0.

Cletus said in his video that they were over the moon to get in the final because Leroy is at best a 8.0 car at the moment... in a field full of cars running deep in the sevens. The competition has moved on and Leroy’s been left behind a bit. I reckon there’s already a slipper clutch heading Leroy’s way. A 8.0 car, even an auto is still a damn fast car. Add in manual and that’s freaking unreal.
