I have a regular 3 pin box connector and a 2 pin on my tractor and the box has a little latch on the inside to catch the a hole on the pin like the latch you are showing but my box is different. my box is old and crumbling apart, my pins connected to the wire is in great shape. My question is what type of 2 and 3 pin box do I need to replace my bad ones.my box is the square type with a push on the out side to release the male side from the female side like those on most vehicles. all the ones I see are the type where the pin has a little piece that sticks up to latch in box. I need the latch in the box. What do they call this type of box----Thank you

Shortest video with cutaway demostration. I award you a KZbin Emmy

8 years later you're video posting showing a cutaway section solved my problem. Had 11 of 12 pins come out easily, but 1 frustrated me for many days. I'd try, get mad, put it down etc... your cutaway showed me that I might be able to release it from the back side, used a bobby pin and viola, pulled right out. Thanks very much for the video.

what can I do if the latch snaps that holds the pin in? ones just gone in my ECU and now pins loose, is there anything I can do??
@WiringRescue8 жыл бұрын
If I understand correctly, you could just swap all the pins over to a new yellow connector.
@adambolton93398 жыл бұрын
+Jeremy Nutt deffo nothing else I could do? there's so many wires in this connector and very limit space due to being a bike, the pin pushes in but is not secured

That looks fun on a table top but how the hell do you do that downside of a armrest housing?🤦🏻♂️
@hmsailor61333 жыл бұрын
what if it doesnt have a black pin?
@WiringRescue3 жыл бұрын
It likely functions in a similar method inside, but just doesn't use the lock. Most of these connectors that are around this age (1991-94) are very similar.
@hmsailor61333 жыл бұрын
@@WiringRescue i have the version with a locking tab thats pulls-up and pushes down.

@WiringRescue5 жыл бұрын
Kelsey Pippin - I’m happy I could help! What do you mean by separate though? Maybe I can help more?
@kelseyrenee915 жыл бұрын
@@WiringRescue I can't seem to pull apart the housing? It could just be because it's in an awkward spot..? It's in my school bus which is a 96 so they haven't ever been separated. Needless to say with cold fingers and a flathead trying to pull the thing apart I was getting really pissed off 😅
@WiringRescue5 жыл бұрын
@@kelseyrenee91 - haha! Cold fingers is never helpful. Each vehicle computer is a little different. For these Mitsubishi ones, you just push down the yellow tab on the top. Sometimes it helps to push the connector back Inward toward the ECU before pushing the tab down and pulling the connector Outward. When they sit that way for years, they sometimes do get stuck.
@kelseyrenee915 жыл бұрын
@@WiringRescue okee I will try that today, thank you!
