Shouldn't the neutral safety switch stay latched, or is it momentary?

@WiringRescue I have previously seen that video, I have actually used it as a guide for wiring a roof light bar and A-pillar lights. However, that was with SPST switches. Is there a way to wire the 5 pin Apiele Halo light switch as a negative trigger? I think you would have to wire the halo portion on a positive circuit using a 5amp fuse and wire the rest on the negative side of the relay?

I'm just wondering how I can wire up a dual country/city horn setup using a toggle switch. I still want to retain the original meep keep horn on my 1989 Nissan Sentra for city driving but I want to install a separate set of louder horns I pulled from a junked Volvo S70 I can use as the country horn. I still want to use the horn pad as the momentary switch as it is natural human reaction to place your hand on the horn during driving.

Do you have a video on " How to draw a plan on wiring a car", lots of great clips on here but can't find one on how to plan it out, draw up a plan and follow it through. Great work. Keep the knowledge comming.

Good instructor. Easy to follow. Maybe slightly separate the three wires ( bat +, bat - and load jumper) as to clearly show the connections.

Just found your channel, gave a thumbs up, subscribed, & rang the bell. I have a 1987 AMC Jeep Wagoneer which has 4 relays corroded, & the local auto parts store wants $20 each for them. I see numerous relays advertised on line for boatloads less, yet I am ignorant & somewhat stupid as to being able to determine if those lower priced relays will work for my application. Thanks for the schooling, much appreciated.

Hello Wiring Rescue. Excellent video and explanation. Question; where does the two red wires from the double pole switch go to? I watched video several times to try to catch where they go. Thanks!

@WiringRescue 4 күн бұрын
Sorry I didn’t point that out in the video. The red wires on the switch don’t actually go through the board! That is one very short loop that connects one side of the switch to the other. Here is a picture of it that I just took for you. www.rattymusclecar.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/2623C792-633A-456D-9377-B183C7305BF0-scaled.jpeg

HELP I’m wiring the headlights for my valiant I have power to either the low beam wire or high beam wire from my floor dimmer switch not both. When I plug the connector into the sealed beam halogen light I get power out of all 3 contacts on my high beam and both contacts of my low beam is this normal? Just hook up a ground and go? It just doesn’t seem normal I wouldn’t be surprised if the headlights were toast they seem old. Any help would be appreciated I can post a short if need be

It’s really tough to diagnose electrical issues over the internet, so I probably cannot help too much. But I can point you to my wiring playlist which has several videos on wiring headlights which will show you how they “should” work. Here is one I would think will help most. kzbin.info/www/bejne/amLYeo2vh9h9eZYsi=8Sskohnv8t8qqg_D

@ I know it’s pretty much impossible the problem is I have sealed beam headlights from at least the 80s if not older I have 2 3 pin sealed beam halogen headlights and 2 2 pin of the same variety. I have 12v running into one pin or the other. According to my dimmer switch position I always get 12v out of the other pins coming from the headlights. making it so no matter the position of the dimmer switch, I always have power to all 4 lights and all 10 terminals. My question is, is this normal or are my headlights fubar? there is power coming out of the ground pin on the headlight which doesn’t make sense to me if anyone can help me understand I’d appreciate it

@@fastlanegaming2000- it sounds like the ground side of your headlights isn’t working. Make sure you have a ground going from you battery, to the engine block, and to the body/chassis. Then make sure the grounds on the headlights also connect to the body.

I actually learned something the other day with a flasher relay. So we all know you can't use LED bulbs with a regular flasher relay because the bulbs don't draw enough amps to make the flasher work. But what you can do is run 2 incandescent bulbs like 1157 in the front (or rear) and run the rear (or front) with LED bulbs. As long as they are wired on the same circuit the incandescent draws enough amps to make the flasher work and the LED bulb responds because the flasher is working for the incandescent. Pretty cool I thought

Interesting. So that switch could be used at an "A or B" circuit selector type of switch. Which makes me wonder, are there switches that let you switch between three circuits? So rather than on and off, it would be more of a selector, maybe a rocker style switch, with a position A, B, and C. So for example if you wanted to be able select between any one of three lights turning on?

Question 1: Instead of sending power to 86 and 30 why not just send power to 30 and connect your load to 87A (87a normally closed to 30)? It would still be triggered by the ground wire. One less wire to connect. Would this work or am I wrong? Question 2: Does the gauge of wire matter for the ground trigger? Thanks!

I love your videos. They help a lot. One thing I haven't been able to find an answer to is when to use a fused connection or a breaker connection? I have two electric fans, and they came with 40 amp breakers. Why breakers and not a fuse?
@WiringRescue
@WiringRescue 6 күн бұрын
I should totally make a video on that! Generally breakers are more forgiving than fuses. And electric fans are somewhat of a special case. When a fan turns on, it draws a huge amperage through the circuit, but once it is spinning, the amperage draw is WAY less. A normal fuse doesn’t play nicely with this scenario because fuses prefer a steady flow. Breakers are way more friendly because they can handle a surge of electricity for a few seconds and if they trip, they reset themselves. I’ll try to make a video in the near future that explains it better. Thanks for the idea (and watching of course!)
