Just one question. Why does the power block only need a 5 amp fuse. Where the relays need a higher fuse. I understand that the fuses for the relays are transmitting higher power. But doesn't the power block draw more amps if some of the accessories are working at the same time? @@WiringRescue
@keidelsantiago5556 Жыл бұрын
@@starfighter2952only needs a 5 amp fuse because those only turn the relays on, not the accessories. The current draw of the coil in the relay is only about 200mA, so those 5 amps can power quite a few relays.

Phenomenal job, you should be a teacher. You and I think alike, I started building wiring harnesses when I was in high school. I had a very high aptitude for electronics and wiring. I built harnesses for street rods muscle, sled pull trucks, big rigs and mud trucks into my mid 20s. I only build them now for hot rod buddies and my projects, I'm 44 now and a long haul trucker. I build them in the truck during my off time and by the time I get home every 3 or 4 weeks, a friend gets a harness. You sir have put a blueprint on video, I commend you and hope you influence others to build their own.

My truck is 22 years old . I have maintained it well and electrical is now on the menu.. I replaced my fuse block, light bulbs , and checked all connectors in the harness and cleaned every body ground connection. My electrical system went haywire when circuits were energized with the key off , then the computer under volted and stopped reading the speed sensor and that led to transmission going into safe mode along with the engine with the money light on. Some people said it was a bad GEM module .. The fix for me was replacing the fuse block and cleaning up connectors . If you own a vehicle auto electric is a must to learn. You make it easy to understand .. ⭐

One of the bad things of having your favorite ride parked for the winter (Goldwing, snow, cold) is the abundance of time not riding your favorite ride. One of the GOOD things is that there is a lot more time to figure out what projects will take over your life in the Spring, and with lots of time available, there is naturally a lot of KZbin surfing. I came across one of your videos while researching fuse blocks and relays and things electrical, and was immediately hooked. You have an absolute gift in your ability to explain, in simple terms, what makes most of us cringe. I just watched this video on Headlites, Turn Signals, Brakes etc. The opening shot of the complete board nearly had me quit and move on, but I was surprised to be able to follow along with you as you explained each circuit and progressively added each new circuit. Being able to see what each piece of the puzzle did and how it interacts with the others takes a lot of the head-scratching out of the project. Thank you for taking the considerable time to help out those of us who are just smart enough to know we need help.

You’re a life saver Bro, I’m a CompScie student who’s looking to learning automobile electric and electronics so i can be doing autoElectris as a side hustle/job… and your content is making that possible… I’d appreciate if you gave a recommendation of resources for someone who’s looking into learning vehicle electrics by themselves.

I am making a Legneds car "street legal" and was trying to figure out how i was going to make a simple yet removable headlight/taillight harness so i could remove it and still race. It took a bit of searching but your video was exactly what my idea was. Now to execute it in a tiny car.

I'm back a year later and couldn't remember the wiring colors. Just went through watching this video and wrote them down. Could easily identify them with a continuity test on a multimeter but figured this would help others. Horn - White w/ Green - Green w/ Blue Headlight - White w/ Red - Brown w/ Blue Parking - Yellow - Blue Turn Pwr - Green w/ Black R Turn - White L Turn - Blue w/ Green

Thanks for this information on how to connect light's and horns, and I will try to fix something like this to my electric wheelchair for my safety when I'm riding around in my home town. I will give you a 5⭐ on this education.

Ive watched a handful of your videos, most of them several times and have found them all amazing! I really appreciate your teaching style and the information youre covering! If youre looking for new ideas, a video like this one where you show the step by step in a written diagram as well so we can learn to read would be awesome! I also have a project im working on that combines an 8 gang with traditional rocker switches. What i want to accomplish is 1. Individual light controls through the switch panel 2. Traditional spst that ties into all the front lights (ditch, roof, bumper etc) and is controlled by the high beams. The idea is that with the switch off, Hi/Lo is normal. With the switch on, hi operates with additional lights. Im struggling to understand if the best way is negative or positive control and how the wiring would work. If you have time and interest id love to see what you come up with!

KZbin randomly suggested your video to me and I'm so glad I came across it. My headlights and popup motors randomly stopped working on my 1993 Mazda RX7 and I've been putting off troubleshooting the issue because I believe the problem is in the wiring and not necessarily the components (bulbs, motors, fuses). I also haven't had a horn since I replaced my steering wheel, which makes parking lots a bit scary when people can't see me and I can't honk. lol You video gave me good insight on how to start troubleshooting my healight problems and wiring up a horn somewhere! 🙏🏽

Love the video! Extremely helpful! Also fun fact: a dodge neon (2000-2005) the mfs (multi function switch) takes all the amps for everything it runs! There are no relays in that circuit!! Causing the main connector to melt as most of the wire was to small of a gauge and over time causing the connector to melt and short out!
@WiringRescue Жыл бұрын
Interesting info! I guess some relays would have been a good idea in those cars! Thanks for watching and sharing the info.
