4K/60p: LIRR M3 Front Window Babylon to Jamaica Express Run

To finish up my Vacation time from Work, took a quick round trip to Jamaica and of course, can't do that without doing this along the way. Was originally planning to only go to Merrick but made a last second decision just before pulling into Babylon for $5 more (each way) to go out further West. Plus, I scanned ahead of time on the Macbook and found an M3 heading toward Babylon and everything else was M7s and it would've taken too long, plus this would've gone right through Merrick anyway so used this to my advantage. About 23 minutes in, had to hold at Valley Interlocking for a Long Beach train to cross over, followed by a big diverging route for us. Also this video is in sections combined into one as my S8+ can only record 10 minutes at a time.

Great video of a nice ride! Not a regular rider but I think the route via the Atlantic Branch is novel. I believe they were once different railroads back in the day. If I visit LI again I'll treat to a lunch and a ride. Cheers

Excellent video. Looks like the 11:00 AM Babylon to Jamaica express. This has to be one of your most interesting M3 Head Car videos in terms of the route they took. I'm sure you were quite surprised by how they routed you through the Valley Stream station, and then on to Jamaica via Rosedale, Laurelton, and Locust Manor.

I bet that train wasn't even that crowded, but a smooth, fast ride for sure. You can just see how much better the infrastructure is taken care of on the Babylon Branch. Not sure why you got rerouted via Atlantic though it looked like the may have been an issue with a crossarm on one of the poles you passed at 28:38. The Atlantic routing is a little faster anyway but you lose time due to the switching.

Speaking of this train it should have stopped at Wantagh Bellmore & Merrick then Express to Jamaica from Babylon or is it direct to Jamaica then local stops to Penn Station from Babylon? Penn Station to Bellmore is 45 min

Last night, two m3s ran 20 minutes apart from each other at nearly midnight. A 12 car ran the 11:35 Babylon express and a 10 car ran the 11:50 local to Long Beach. Interesting since m3s seem not to run that late at least from what I see

MrMaster767 In other terms, my friend supposedly spotted the m9 test train near Hicksville a few minutes ago. I’m not pleased since he got to see it before I did. I haven’t seen it in person yet lol. We are now up to 9030 in terms of car numbers and delivery
